Oh, forgot this - Kungstradgarden 7th of June

On June 4 - 7 there is a huge event in Kungstradgarden in Stockholm. It's called "Taste Stockholm" and it is a kind of food festival and with artists as well. On the final night H.E.A.T is headlining and closing the festival. Be sure to be there if you can. It will be a blast and as you know they always deliver a supershow live. I hope to see you there :-)

Brunch cruise in Stockholm archipelago

What a day we had picked for our brunch cruise!! The weather was gorgeous, around 23C, sunshine and a breeze.  Me and Helen on deck   The new ride at Grona Lund After finally finding a parking place on Strandvagen, which isn't easy, we headed to the boat. It's a steamship called Stockholm.   The Danish Royal ship - Dannebrogen On the opposite quay was the Danish royal ship, Dannebrogen. We thought it must have already come for the Princess wedding on June 8. The Danish royals always stays on that boat during Royal parties instead of a hotel or castle.   My beautiful sister in the ship and you can see the brunch table behind . As soon as we had left the brunch started. There were all sorts of things, smoked salmon, herrings in all forms and shapes (which I don't eat), sausages, salads, bread, meatballs, chicken and much much more.   Stockholm is beautiful! The dessert table was just delicious!! And so it kept on. We were out fo...

20.000 and counting

Over 20 000 has read what I write. It's fantastic! I'm very happy about it and I will try to write more.  I really admire my sister and nieces in USA that writes every day this month. It's the month, where you are supposed to write something every day, called National Blog Posting Month. I love reading their thoughts, little anecdotes and follow their lives. It's hard when you are so far away but internet is a blessing in that respect. Not much more to say. I have been working Monday until today like almost every week and now I'm off until Monday.  Today was Emil's namesday and we celebrated him during coffee this afternoon. Just a little cake, nothing much. Emil when he and Hasse went for a walk in the sunshine (but cold) On Friday I'm going to H.E.A.T's first own show where they headline and have supporting bands. They had a great weekend in Gothenburg last weekend and this Friday it's Stockholm. They go to Kalmar very early the next m...

First snow and H.E.A.T tour

Today October 25 the first snow this season (not counting the snow at the beginning of the year) fell in Stockholm. As you might remember I'm not a fan of snow. Well, that is I like snow but I don't like the consequences of snow like icy roads, traffic jam, slippery streets and freezing. I do like the crispiness and the light it brings to the landscape and it can be really beautiful as long as you are not in a car on the road or having too little on. Picture from Stockholm city photo courtesy to Anna Dansk I can also reveal that H.E.A.T is doing, besides the tour in Sweden, also a tour in Great Britain and more shows/countries is apparantly on the way :-)   I might have to take vacation in April and go to England :-) Well, we have to wait and see. Other than these news I don't have many but my stiches from the operation is not yet out. They are supposed to go away by themselves and apparantly it isn't healed yet (2 weeks since the operation now). I h...

Weekend in Stockholm, True Talent

Beautiful view of Stockholm early Saturday morning Back home after a weekend in Stockholm and you can never guess which hotel? Yes, right it's as always Elite Marina Tower although this time we weren't as pleased as before. The location is still great and this time we took walks along the seaside which was great. The weather really was on the right side, that is sunny and beautiful. Temp. around 12-13C which is very warm this time of the year. You could even see people on surfboards. I don't know what this sport is called but I bet it would be cold if they fell into the water. We had a suite this time, very pricy which I didn't know when I said yes to it. I show you some photos from it so you get the idea.   The big room with 180 view of the sea  The door into the bedroom And the bedroom We went for walks along the sea which was great. I just love the sea air! I wish I had the money to buy a flat here but I don't. They cost from 3.500 million SwCrowns up to 12....

Hotellweekend in Stockholm

The view when we approach the hotel by boat (If you click on the photos they open up in bigger size) It's October 2 today and I'm just home after spending a wonderful weekend in Stockholm at our favorite hotel, Elite Marina Tower . This was my birthday gift from Hasse <3 and it was really thoughtful. I also got, last year, a gift card from my sister Helen which I used now. It was for a day at the National Museum including champagne with canapés at our arrival. Then viewing of the museum and after that a 2-course lunch with wine and coffee. We had the most wonderful reception when we came. A reserved table in the Atrium restaurant layed with champagne glasses and napkins.   Me in the grand entrance hall of National museum with Carl Larsson's painting Gustav Vasa's entrance into Stockholm in the background Hasse watching the old masters The restaurant manager, Karin, came and told us about our day. We really felt VIP the whole day. When we returned after the viewi...

Back home again

Sunset in Stockholm (taken from our hotel window) Now I'm back home again after celebrating holiday in various places. I haven't had access to a computer when in hotels but for short periods of time that's why I haven't been able to write on my blog either. Anyway we have had the most wonderful time. After Dalhalla we went to Helsinki on a cruise with Silja line, of course in Commodore cabin with a balcony :-) Then we stayed a couple of nights at the most gorgeous hotel, hotel Haven , very close to the city center and right beside the market square. After waiting for a long time we finally got our room (the room wasn't ready due to peopel not leaving in time but we got complimentary wine and beer while waiting) which was beautiful. Facing towards the market square, the harbour and the sea we had a great view. The loo had a big window so we really had a loo with a view ;-) Our toilet in Helsinki :-) One of the days we rented a car and drove to the old town of Bo...

and it kept snowing.....

This morning I called my sister Jo in California who had her birthday yesterday but since it's such a big difference in time it was Thursday evening 8.30 PM when I called and here it was already Friday and 6.30AM :-) Anyway I called and Hasse and I sang to her and then we talked for almost 30 minutes. So nice to hear her voice and instantly I feel like I want to be there. Especially since Jo said the kids wore shorts yesterday in school and they had temperatures around 22 C and that is on the plus!!! Happy birthday big sis. I love you :-) (sorry Jo, I know you don't like to have your pictures taken but I love the one of you by the fireplace and the other one is the first time I came to see you) At the moment we are having around - 12C and it snowed for over 24 hours before it stopped last night. So that is when it really got cold. Up in the north they have had down to -35C. Can you who lives in California grasp that? I don't know what temp. you have in SLC but is it this co...
