Do you like it?

Changing your clocks I mean? I hate it! I think it's because I'm an evening/nightperson and have trouble getting up in the morning. I do get up but I'm halfdead until 10 AM or something. When I go to USA it's much easier for me to adjust to the time even though it's 9 hours timedifference. But when I get home it's awful. Weeks of dizziness, sick to my stomach and falling asleep everywhere. This can lasts for a week or more. But it so much worth it!! To be able to see my sister, brother in law, nieces, T and the rest of the family. When one has found once sister this late in life like I have I really want to grab every opportunity to meet even though we live in different continents. I'm gonna let you know about my week. Wednesday boardmeeting with the Rheumatic association and after that directly into town for the annual meeting with the district. Thursday met my doctor. I'm not doing that well. He wants to send me off so I can get some rest and also

H.E.A.T , lectures and boardmeeting

Does the title sound exciting? Well, H.E.A.T might and why I wrote that is because when I read the paper today I saw that H.E.A.T is to play on Gröna Lund, our amusement park here in Stockholm, July 27. Guess who's gonna be there? Was it hard? You're right, it's yours truly :-) Not long now until the cruise. I hope we will have great fun. This is the ship we're cruising with, M/S Galaxy We were supposed to have had a lecture today from the mortitians but they called and said they had noone to send because of illnesses and education. Maybe it's deadseason, hahaha. So I decided we should have the meeting anyway and inform about the Rheumatic association for those who cam. I had a hard time reaching everyone because I didn't have phone or e-mailaddress to everyone. We had coffe and chatted for a good hour and we all enjoyed it so a good afternoon. Tomorrow we have boardmeeting and directly after that we head to Stockholm for the annual meeting of the District. I

Gaining weight, cleaning and dreaming of LA

I woke up at 5.50 AM this morning and I have no idea why :-) Maybe it was the beautiful sunshine and the blue sky. It's not like me but and I don't need it either since I'm still out of work. But I got up and went ahead and made breakfast for me and Hasse. A very good one I might add. We have a habit now since I became unemployed and that is we eat breakfast for an hour or more, chatting, reading the newspaper and eating in a calm mood. This is the way to start the day! But I'm so angry because I have gained so much weight since last year which I discovered today when I cleaned my wardrobes. I had to throw away a lot of clothes and this makes me so sad and so angry. I'm not the one that talks about weight, mine or others because that is not important to me. The important about a fellowhuman is the inside and the heart. The first thing I notice about a person is his or her eyes. Then I see the rest, but if the eyes are kind and friendly the chance is that the per

Saturday evening, new blog in Swedish

I know I haven't written since Tuesday but do you know what? I have started a blog in Swedish as well called H.E.A.T och dit which is kind of funny. H.E.A.T means in Swedish when you pronounce it here. So the blogs name would be " Here and there". Link below for you who understand Swedish.  metrobloggen.se/emtes On Wednesday I went to see my coach in Norrtälje and also my friend Anne for treatment which was much needed. I'm sorry to say that I'm still out of work. Not that I want to!!!! I want a job as fast as possible and I'm really doing everything to get it but it's not easy. I have even had recruitment offices call me as I have my CV on their website but everyone wants a fulltime worker and I can't as you know. It's really starting to get at me. Sometimes I even doubt my knowledges which I really shouldn't because I'm good at what I do but you know I can't help it. Every day I start by looking and applying for those jobs availab

80-year celebration and H.E.A.T on radio

Today we found out that H.E.A.T is going to perform live on Swedish national radio P4 on May 14. Each Friday a band or artist performs live at Radiohuset in Stockholm and that day it's H.E.A.T'S turn. They are in good company. Others that has performed there are for example: Jimi Hendrix, Rod Stewart, Status Quo, Bee Gees, Lou Reed, Mott the Hoople, Eric Burdon and the Animals, Duffy, The Soundtrack of our Lives. I'm gonna be there for sure :-) Link to Swedish radio P4 I have also been celebrating a 80-year young friend of ours. We have spent vacations together with other couples in Rhodes a couple of times and we see each other several times a year when we meet at friends birthdays. He's such a friendly nice man and his wife Karin is so warm, friendly and glad. So it was a pleasure to celbrate him today.     Börje the 80-year jubilar in the center of this photo Karin his wife  And the bouquet we gave. Home again

I'm home again after a wonderful weekend at Bommersvik. Or rather I came home yesterday evening but had so much to do that I didn't have time to write here ;-) Anyway, a weekend full of new friends, interesting meetings with people from all over, discussions, great education, good food, a wonderful weather although icy and very nice hotelrooms with a view. So today I'm going on a meeting with my ladies from the Rheumatic association. That should be nice, we chat and drink some coffe :-) Tomorrow one of our friend turn 80. I can't believ that when I heard it. He's so young at heart. We are going to congratulate him of course. Wednesday it's time to meet with my jobcoach again in Norrtälje. I'm looking forward to that. But for now it's Monday and I'm going to drink my coffe right now :-)

Bommersvik Saturday March 13

Here I am sitting in my very nice hotelroom overlooking a big field and just now a hare jumped beside my window. I'm just waiting to see a moose too. I'm here on a course in Democracy held by ABF. Great course, great people and lot of fun discussions. Tonight we are having dinner and they will serve a South American buffet. I have no idea what that is but I'm sure it will be tasty. Tonight I will try to watch the Melodifestival but it will be hard to be ready in time for that because of dinner. As I have said before I am now more than ever totally convinced that H.E.A.T would have won the whole thing if they had started with their BEG BEG BEG :-) Well, whatever you decide to do I hope you will have a wonderful Saturday evening. I will get back to you with some photos tomorrow.

Rheumatic meeting for new members

Yesterday we had a meeting for new members with the Rheumatic association but there weren't that many that came and noone really new :-( This is kind of sad. You try to arrange nice social meetings so we can get together and talk thus strenghtening us. We who came had a lovely time chatting, eating sandwiches and drinking coffee. I also had a brief information about our association and activities planned during the springseason. Next in line is a lecture from our local morticians. It's sounds worse than it is. Everyone of us will sometime in life experience the loss of someone loved and closed ot us. Are we then ready to deal with everything around the funeral? Do we know what to do? Had the departed told his or hers last wishes? Can I myself write down how I want my funeral to be? Insurances? And many many more questions will be answered. I think it will be very interesting. I have not yet got a job and it sucks!!! I have applied for numerous but haven't heard from th

H.E.A.T on National Radio

Did I forget to tell you that H.E.A.T was on National Radio yesterday? Well, they were anyway. They did an interview due to the fact that their song BEG BEG BEG was song of the week last week. So this week they played both 1000 miles and BEG BEG BEG as well as interviewing the guys. I think they did a great job. http://www.sr.se/webbradio/webbradio.asp?type=db&Id=2242070&BroadcastDate=&IsBlock= You can listen to it on the link above although it's in Swedish but the music is of course in English.  They are mostly talking about how and if the Melodifestivalen have changed them and also about their new album "Freedom Rock". You can hear Jona, Eric, Crash and Jimmy. Otherwise we have had a wonderful sunny day today and what do I do then? I fall asleep in the chair and after 2 hours Hasse wakes me up so I missed most of it :-( Here are some private photos from the afterparty after the Eurovision tryout last year. Hasse, Jona and Mandy  Me, Jona an

Did you think the snow was starting to fade?

Think again ;-) Today has been a day of sunshine and heavy snowing, not at the same time though. I went to Norrtälje this morning to meet with my coach and I had a lot of thoughts when going there. We talked it through and now I might be changing totally - workwise that is. I have for the last 30 years worked with economy in different ways. But now I'm into working with people - as a jobcoach. And maybe in a specific direction which is with disabled or with people with some sort of handicap. This is a big group that wants and needs to work and often have more difficulties to overcome. I have contacted my contact at the Employment office to get more details on what I need, education, job opurtunities, salary etc. And of course what you are expected to do. I have a rough idea and I have seen my jobcoach in action of course. It's very exciting and hopefully I will get some positive answers and then when I meet with my jobcoach the next time we can hopefully choose the path
