Update August - February

I haven't written since August and I can't believe why really or yes I can. There is so much going on and the time never seems to be enough. The last time was when I had been to the Hadiraja festival and places some videoclips here with Erik and Jona. Since then if I just take August there were boardmeetings both at work and at the Rheumatic association. Mandy turned 25 and had a party with family to celebrate. She later also had a party with friends of course. At the Rheumatic association we had a big trouble when our newly elected chairwoman said she was immediately leaving her post due to doubts about the mission. We then had to discuss how to deal with this which took a lot of time. We also had a chairmen conference planned in September with a set program that we suddenly had to change completely. This also took a long time. In September I turned 62! Yes you read it right. I can't believe I'm 62, It doesn't feel like it, at least not in my head but my bod...

Holidays

A New year has begun but before that we had Christmas. Fireworks from our balcony. Hard to get good photos and a sense of how many there were New Year's dinner - main course I started my holiday on December 22 so I had a chance to fix all the things you need to do before you can celebrate. Like shopping for everything you need to prepare the food like the most important - the ham. Then to make the meatballs, the spareribs, the ham, the Christmas porridge and everything else you need. Ready for Christmas Eve Father and sons with some glogg On Christmas Eve we were just the boys and us. Mandy worked and then she was at her sisters house. We had a very nice time together and very traditionally. Helen and her family had gone on a cruise from Barcelona to Maroc and the Canary islands so they weren't here. We had Secret Santa and I got a wonderful warm grey scarf. Our Christmas tree Some of the Christmas smorgasbord The next morning we all went up to...

Oh my God

The Christmas smorgasbord I just realized I haven't written anything since November 23! But I can tell you I haven't been lazy but there has been so much going on that I haven't had the strength to write. I had meetings that week and I was supposed to be at a conference hotel for lunch that Friday but I was to tired I had to cancel it. So instead I baked safron buns (!) and made chocolate troufles with ginger.  The ferry On December 1 it was Staffan's birthday (Hasse's oldest son) and I worked and worked at my job. Thursday I and Hasse were supposed to go to the theatre and see Come again Charlie, which was one of my birthday presents - thank you Pär and Brita. But Hasse wasn't feeling well so instead I asked Linnea, my bonus grand daughter if she wanted to go and she was very happy that I asked. We had a really good time and the play, which was a comedy, was funny but also with a message which made you laugh and then stop. It was about the si...

Work, work, work and a bit of pleasure :-)

The living room with work- and relax area Me and my collegues hard at work This weekend me and my 3 collegues in the working committé at the Rheumatic association had a conference at the Elite Marina Tower hotel here in Stockholm. We decided that time is never enough to do what we need to do which, at this instant, was to plan 2015 and furthermore make a 5-year plan. Another collegue joined us for a couple of hours to help out We had booked a suite with connecting bedrooms which turned out to be great (and cheaper than if we would have rented a conference room instead). Now we had a big "living room" with a working area with table, flipboard, pens and so on. This meant we could be very effective and we just left to have dinner, breakfast and lunch. Otherwise we stayed in the suite. Then at night we could hang in the sofa area of the room, tired and just laying there before going to bed.  We got so much done! And we did all, and a bit more, than we had planned ...

OK, now I'm sick instead

Good advice Jo and I have taking it easy but of course then I got ill. So despite feeling bad on Monday I went to the Christmas concert which was just wonderful and magical. The next day I had the day off (good of me) but wasn't feeling well. I had a headache, coughed a lot, was shivering - well you got the picture. But the next day of course I went to work. I had to do all the invoicing, the salaries for December (I don't think anyone would have liked it not being paid this month) and so on. So I was at work at 05.20AM (I couldn't sleep so I thought I could go and work instead) already and I worked hard until I was done at 1.30PM. Then home and as I suspected I had fever. So I drank hot water with ginger and honey and that's about what I have had to eat the last days. Today I was down to my doctor's to take some bloodtests before meeting with my Dr Christer next week. Well, one of the tests, the CRP (which shows infections) was so high that the nurse got me a do...

Stressed out!

I'm sorry I haven't written but I'm completely stressed out right now so I have to have my priorities right. I will get back here and tell you all about it as soon as things settle down. Meanwhile, take care and above all don't do like me instead be calm :-)

Preparing for the traditional Advent celebration.....

Yes, I'm at it and have been since last weekend, but today it was time to iron the Christmas curtains and put them up. Also all the Christmas cloths were ironed and placed. We also have this little Advent tree (like a little Christmas tree but without all the decorations) with just lights. We also have a little "Christmas town" welcoming people in the hall. It changes colors all the time and it's very decorative. Yesterday I took a break from all the preparations and went to the Rheumatic association where I also am planning a Christmas celebration with dinner for around 40 active chairpeople. I met with my friend in the "party committé" and we went to order everything for next Thursday.  Then I had a budget meeting before heading off to the Royal Opera where I saw Puccini's Turandot. A totally magic evening and the beautiful Nessun Dorma sang extremely well and it gave me chills all over.  Even the Opera house was Christmas decorated. In the...

H.E.A.T in China!

H.E.A.T arriving in China Yes, you read it right. H.E.A.T is at the moment on tour in China. And what a tour that is! I mean 11 gigs in 12 days and only 1 day off. That is a hard schedule they have. China isn't the smallest country and it's very far to go. They actually cross almost the whole of China from the north to the west, south and east. It must be totally fascinating and I know they would at least go on the Chinese wall but I hope they see much more than that.   Setting up for one of the gigs Here's their schedule every day: 05.30 am -                  Wake up, pack your stuff and get ready to go. 06.00 am -                  Go to airport or train station. 07.00 am - 11.00 am - In the air or on the rails. 11.00 am - 12.00 pm   Arrive in a new city and check in at hotel. 01.00 p...
