Preparing for the traditional Advent celebration.....

Yes, I'm at it and have been since last weekend, but today it was time to iron the Christmas curtains and put them up. Also all the Christmas cloths were ironed and placed. We also have this little Advent tree (like a little Christmas tree but without all the decorations) with just lights. We also have a little "Christmas town" welcoming people in the hall. It changes colors all the time and it's very decorative. Yesterday I took a break from all the preparations and went to the Rheumatic association where I also am planning a Christmas celebration with dinner for around 40 active chairpeople. I met with my friend in the "party committé" and we went to order everything for next Thursday.  Then I had a budget meeting before heading off to the Royal Opera where I saw Puccini's Turandot. A totally magic evening and the beautiful Nessun Dorma sang extremely well and it gave me chills all over.  Even the Opera house was Christmas decorated. In the

Recap of the week

This week meant a lot to do and I'm afraid I haven't taken the time to write here :-( But here's a recap of what has happened. Monday and Tuesday not very much but I was so, so tired and my joints does not like this weather at all. I have so much pain especially in my hands and fingers which makes it hard even to write here.  On Wednesday I went to Norrtälje to my good friend Anne for some treatment, which was very much needed, lots of chat and also a very good lunch. It's always a pleasure to see her and we have so much to talk about all the time. A true friend who I'm so grateful of having. Next day it was time for work and after that directly to the working committe in the Rheumatic association. Afterwards also meeting in the foundation, where we grant money to people who have applied, and fulfill the rules of the statues. When driving home again at night, it's so dark now and I hate driving in the dark, there was an accident with a big truck a

Sunday

Quiet Sunday, nothing much to say really. We have just been hanging out. Having some coffee, planning for the Advent celebration which is in 2 weeks time (as tradition bids). So next weekend will be filled with baking all the safronbuns and other stuff. Therefore it was nice to don't have any "musts" today.  For dinner I made a pork fillet in cream and served with bulgur boiled in vegetable stock. Very yummie. I hope you all had a much more exciting day :-) Fullmoon tonight so I went outside and took these photos from our porch. It's amazing how strong the light is. Take care and for you that have just started the day - have a good one :-)

Sibbarpsrevyn, Ballon dance and conference

My sister Jo sent me this link to a very funny performance by Sibbarpsrevyn. How she can find this in LA I don't know ;-) Watch and enjoy :-) Sibbarpsrevyn   I will send something right back to her and that is our famous "The Ballon dance" The original was with Lars Åberg, Sven Melander and one other which I don't remember. They performed in a TV-show called Nöjesmaskinen "The Enterteinment machine" and was so funny. This version which I found on youtube is from a show called Diggiloo that performs outdoors in the summer all over Sweden. And as you can see we have this wonderful summer weather here ;-) This was, I think, 3 years ago and we must have had a very rainy summer. Watch this, enjoy and tell me what you think :-) Ballongdansen Otherwise I have been on the chairmen conference today and I'm so very tired but it was so good and give so much but now I'm just going to enjoy the rest of the weekend, be lazy and chill ;-)

Sourdough bread

This is the result of my baking yesterday. Well, one of them at least. The other one is almost eaten up. The bread was really delicious, if I may say so myself. But Hasse agrees :-) It took a good 5 hours to make 2 of them but it was all worth it.  I can also report that the hamburgers, yes I decided to go with burgers, were delicious as well. What a difference to the ground beef you buy in the stores, at least here in Sweden. The ground beef I made smelled and tasted like real meat. I'm not sure what they grind in the stores but I know exactly what I grinded and that was pure meat and the fat in it. I'm sorry but I don't have any photos of them but I can assure you they were good. Now I'm soon off to the planning day with the Rheumatic association. Have a good day everyone and take care :-)

Nothing much....

This week has been so grey and dull. It's November and it shows. I am so tired, I have a lot of pain and I'm whining right now :-) Our washing machine broke down, then our dishwasher :-( Hasse said: at least the coffe machine is intact. Oh, I said don't say that because it's to challenge destiny. And wasn't I right. The coffe machine broke down as well. So this week we have bought a new machine park ;-) Dish, wash and coffee machines bought and installed. Not what we needed so close to Christmas! Today I'm trying to bake sourdough bread for the first time. It's fermenting right now so I have time to write here. I'm so curious to see how it turns out. I have also, for the first time, grinded meat with my new mixer that has this attachment. I will make hamburgers tonight with it or maybe meatballs. Haven't decided yet. Today it is Emil's namesday and we celebrated him with his favorite pastry - Budapest pastry. He also had namesday o

Father's Day and dinner at Jonas and Mandy

Today is Father's Day here in Sweden and we were invited to Jonas and Mandy for dinner. All the boys that is Danniel, Jonas and Emil were there and we had such a wonderful time. Jonas told us about their China-tour and future plans for H.E.A.T. Lot's of laughter and chat just as it should be :-) Jonas had made a wonderful risotto with salsiccia and it was really made with love and tasted delicious! For dessert Mandy made a kind of fast cheese cake with blueberries. Great way to end the dinner. Time flew and we had to say goodbye way to early than we wanted but tomorrow is Monday and the clock sounds at 04.40AM so a very good night to all of you. Enjoy the photos :-)

New month and the darkest of them all

This month is NaBloPoMo in USA and my sis and nieces are really good in doing it. It means you should write something every day this month. We don't have anything like it here in Sweden and I'm not sure I could cope with it either. There is so much going on and I have a tendency to get very tired when I sit down by the computer :-) Thursday H.E.A.T shot a music video for their first single on the new album. I'm very excited about it. I have no clue what it's about but I can't wait for the result This is from the filming . Photo by Gustaf Sandholm Andersson     Another shot of them and I think it's really cool Photo by Gustaf Sandholm Andersson Yesterday me and Hasse went to Gavle. Me and Gunilla was going to a musical "I ljus och mörker" In light and darkness.  So Hasse went along and spent time with his eldest son while we were at the musical. On the way up to Gavle we stopped in Uppsala and picked up Lisa (grandchild) and her boyf
