Lot of traveling but not for me

Our yard with snow, photo by me It seems like everyone we know is going somewhere to a warmer climate. Well, I can't blame them. We have had rather chilly weather with snow the last week. Wednesday Gunilla and her Per took off to Jamaica, Montego Bay for 14 days. She will celebrate her 50th birthday there (but the party will be in June) Then yesterday my niece went to Australia for a year. She will live and work there and she has a friend who will also do the same. It's better when they are two, a bit safer. Tomorrow Jonas and Mandy fly to Fort Lauderdale for 3 nights, then they fly to Tulum in Mexico for 14 days and then back to Florida before they come home again. Another grandchild graduates now in January and takes her Master of Engineering after 5 1/2 years of studies at Uppsala university. After that she and her boyfriend takes off to Sri Lanka for vacation before starting working. And I also have relatives in Thailand. But I stick to this cold and snow. W...

The snowstorm Egon

Our Christmas tree covered in snow. Can you see it's still snowing? It's so nice that we let it stay there for a while longer :-) Yesterday we had class 2 warning on our weather. Apparantly there had been a hurricane over Scotland that came to us. We weren't the hardest to be hit by it, but on the Swedish west coast there were floodings by the sea. When it is weather like this it's so nice to stay inside and just cuddle up in the sofa reading a good book or watching some film you have wanted to see for a long time or like me be on the computer telling you about the weather ;-) Of course I cook as well. Like last night we were kind of froozen so I made a lovely Jerusalem artichoke soup. It was so good and warmed us. Today I'm making a roast pork with mashed potatoes and carrots. American Idol has started and I really love that show. Especially with the judges that are on now. They seem to have fun together which I like. Jonas is in Thailand and to...

Vasalopp Sunday

Here's some of the skiers on their way up the first hill Nothing much has happened this week. Just ordinary stuff like working, cooking etc. I did go to my hairstylist,  Suzanne Clausen on Wednesday and you might have seen my new hairdo on Facebook. I really liked the new color. I have very light highlights in the hair which makes me look very goldy blond. The night to Wednesday Jonas, Mandy and their friends returned from Thailand. They were supposed to land 0.55AM but didn't arrive until 01.55AM. I was awake until 1 AM watching if the plane would be more delated. Hasse was the one going out to Arlanda fetching them. They had had a great time and Jonas strongly recommended us to go there. I don't know, I'm more drawn to going west :-) Wonder why ;-) From Thailand - doing faces :-) Anyway today is one of Sweden's big days. Vasalopp day. I'm not sure you have heard of it? It's a skirace over 90 km! Yes that is the longest skirace the...

Meetings and birthdays

This week I was secretary at the annual meeting with the Rheumatic association Sollentuna-Upplands Vasby-Sigtuna. Chairwoman was the chairwoman of the Stockholm district. Before the meeting I had asked one of my friends, musician and troubador, to sing and play for us. He was just great! During the performance we had coffee and sandwiches. Then the meeting which went very well. Afterwards we had yet another cup of coffee and more entertainment. Our troubador - Chris Holm aka Keno Meeting members     I was actually free from work from Wednesday and until tomorrow so one extra day. I had worked so much I could compensate with a day which was nice. I wanted to go to a fair - Meeting and Events but in the end I wasn't feeling too good. Since I stopped taking cortison I have slowly getting worse again :-( I do hope our weather will be better soon because I think it will take that to get better. Emil and Mom Yesterday we went to Danniel's birthday dinner. It's ...

As promised...

I told you that I would write again on Sunday and here I am ;-) What happened this week then. Well, nothing much I think. In the beginning of the week there were a lot to do with the study trip to Copenhagen which I was arranging. Last minute changes, more bookings and so on. Kungsholmens chocolate and coffee - my friends wonderful shop Thursday it was boardmeeting time with the Rheumatic association and before that I went to my friend Christina's chocolate and coffee shop. I just love that!! Since it was Valentine's Day there were a lot of customers shopping chocolate for their loved ones, of course. I didn't get anything :-( but I did send to the ones that means a lot to me :-) And I bought little chocolate heart form my co-members of the board. On Friday it was Danniel's 38th birthday!! Can you believe I have a son that age? How can that be? When I'm only 29+ ;-) Anyway I just sent him a birthday card but next Saturday we are going over to have dinner ...

Sunday - again....

Snow And more snow. This is our front yard It seems like I've become this once-in-a-week blogger ;-) The weeks ticks by so fast and before I know it it's Sunday Every night I think I'll write something but there are so many things I have to do first so when my eyes keeps closing I go to bed and by then I have completely forgotten that I had the intention of writing. Ah well, it is what it is. I have to sum up the week instead. This last week wasn't that exciting though. Work and work and also a birthday. Our youngest grandchild, Klara, turned 17! I can't believe she's so grown. It wasn't long ago she was a baby ;-) Klara - Happy Birthday I have also been very busy this week arranging the study trip to Copenhagen for some of my collegues. No, I'm not going myself but I have become the trip planner and booker at my work. I suppose it's after the successful London trip last year and also the study trip to Scania which I also plan...
