Lot of traveling but not for me

Our yard with snow, photo by me
It seems like everyone we know is going somewhere to a warmer climate. Well, I can't blame them. We have had rather chilly weather with snow the last week.

Wednesday Gunilla and her Per took off to Jamaica, Montego Bay for 14 days. She will celebrate her 50th birthday there (but the party will be in June)

Then yesterday my niece went to Australia for a year. She will live and work there and she has a friend who will also do the same. It's better when they are two, a bit safer.

Tomorrow Jonas and Mandy fly to Fort Lauderdale for 3 nights, then they fly to Tulum in Mexico for 14 days and then back to Florida before they come home again.

Another grandchild graduates now in January and takes her Master of Engineering after 5 1/2 years of studies at Uppsala university. After that she and her boyfriend takes off to Sri Lanka for vacation before starting working.

And I also have relatives in Thailand.

But I stick to this cold and snow. Well, I don't have any choice since it's so much work now in January and February with closing of the books etc.

  2. Yes that's true. It's because we had a bad summer and cold winter. We need the sun and warmth.
    Hope you are feeling better?!

WOW!!! I just have to say Wow!

Why do you ask? I just got a mail telling me that I have won a romantic trip to Paris for 2! I enrolled in this competition, last year, which was to write a slogan and I had forgot all about it when the mail came. I didn't remember it even then so I had to go to the site and see what it was :-) I'm so happy! and so is Hasse :-) We had a great Easter which started with a wonderful ballet, Giselle, at the Royal Opera with my friend Carina. We are going again tomorrow to see Puccinis Turandot :-) The next day Easter Day we went to Gavle and this time we actually stayed at a hotel, Elite Grand hotel. A newly opened hotel, March 1, where we had the executive suite. What a suite! I have to show you some photos. One of the best suites I've ever stayed in!   The suite taken from the "living-room area"  From the "cosy" area with wood burning stove   Our "little" bathroom with green marble Part of the bedroom What do yo...

BIRTHDAY, H.E.A.T, E.R and more...

Some of the wonderful flowers I got And some more Last week didn't start out well. On Monday I woke up and could hardly walk. I had such pain every step I tried to take. But off to work anyway. Tuesday even worse so I went to the doctor's office and asked to borrow crutches. Wednesday at work jumping on crutches, that must have been a sight ;-) But when I came home from work Wednesday I had fever so I went to bed quite early but didn't sleep well because of the constant pain. Thursday morning I woke up and had fever so I called the hospital and they said I had to go to the E.R. I hate that and if I can I always try to avoid it. But I was in so much pain I had to. I came and after a while they took bloodtests, urine and then I sat in a kind of smallish room. After being there for about 3 hours a doctor came and said I probably should see and orthopedic and not a medicine doctor. After one more hour another doctor came and said my bloodtest showed I had an i...

Today is 1st Advent and though my back is still hurting I could get through our traditional celebrations. That is we invite the H.E.A.T family including the guys, girlfriends, parents, siblings and other friends ;-) This year they could actually be here almost all of them. Last year, if you remember, they were recording their record and couldn't attend. Some of the guys from H.E.AT with girlfriends Then only one and his family that couldn't come today was Erik G and his family but that is because he turns 25 tomorrow and they were having a family celebration for him. HAPPY BIRTHDAY in advance Erik Me, Hasse, Dave, Annie, Bernt and Brita  The first guests arrived at 1PM and the last ones left at 4.15PM but it was never crowded because people came and left at different times. At one time all 30 were in place and it was crowded but oh so nice. Lot of chatting, drinking glögg which were everything from 0% alcohol til much more..... Also I had coffee, "snittar...
