Almost time to go home :-(

Me in the blue tank top :-) As you can see I haven't even had time to write on my blog although I've been on vacation. You might think I would have all the time in the world, but no. Anyway it's almost time to go home again after wonderful weeks here in southern California. There have been scenic tours, whale watching, family gatherings, beachvisits, shopping and more... I will be sad leaving because I know it will be a long time before I can come again and I always enjoy being with Jo and all the family. Love them all <3 <3 If you wonder so yes, I have bought a new suitcase! I always end up buying en extra because of all the shopping :-) I won't write anything more now but I post some photos here so you can see what we've been up to. (I have mostly written on my Facebook actually) Me, Jo and Sandy (my niece) Wonderful Piña Colada Me and my sister Jo Mother and daughters Ocean and in the background Long Beach

So many things happening.....

As I said there has been so many things going on that I haven't had time to write here.   Me at Dana point wearing of course the best t-shirt A sealion having a nap in the sun On Monday I went on a coastal scenic trip to quite a few beaches together with Norbert. Jo and Marvin are attending PD training at hospital this week and are there for around 8 hours a day. So that's why Norbert was kind to take me. What beautiful sceneries there are here! We started out with very much clouds but as the day went on it became sunnier and sunnier. So it was a really, really nice day. We had lunch at Dana Point at El Torito (Mexican food) and then we went to the Swenson Oceanic institute (they must have been from Sweden ;-) ) and outside there was benches by the ocean and we sat down and were lucky enough to spot a group of dolphins playing around. One was so happy he jumped high up and flipped. Things you normally would se at a zoo or something. So with that my day was done. I was so hap

Birthday and Sunny California

Today my middle son Jonas turned 26 and I'm in California not able to congratulate him. But I did call him on Skype so we were able to talk to each other and I even got to sing to him :-) Taken at a gig in Gavle with his band H.E.A.T on his birthday 2 years ago. As I said I'm in California and has actually been here for 4 days already. Time flies when you're having fun. Since I came the weather has been reallyl really summerwarm but it's said to be clouds tomorrow. I post some photos here. One is from the jaccuzzi bath last night, another one from one of the hummingbird that comes to the feeder. They are truly amazing birds and I love to watch them. Today we had Norbert over for dinner and we had BBQ big steaks and they were so good, juicy and tasty. Tomorrow I'm going on a scenic tour to the beaches south of here like Newport beach and so on. That should be fun and beautiful.  M   Nice bath in the jaccuzzi under the fullmoon. Jo's Ford Mustang - red and g

Los Angeles and La Mirada

I arrived to Los Angeles later than supposed. We were almost an hour late and then the customs and immigrations took forever. But luckily Norbert were there waiting to pick me up and drive me home. I was tired, of course, after 20 hours of travelling and before I hit the bed I had been up for 27 or something hours. So after chatting, watching American Idol I went to bed and was asleep I think before my head hit the pillow :-) After 10 hours sleep I was good to go again. Thursday I spent at home relaxing, enjoying the sunshine and the warm weather. Today Friday I went with Jo to her school in her great car. It was an interesting day with 24 kids that had a hard time being quiet for more than 2 seconds :-) As the day went on it became warmer and warmer so mid day we had 28C and sunshine! How about that? It was a bit hard for me not being used to those temperatures so shorts and tank top on. Sat out in the garden listening to a book. Took an orange from the orange tree and ate :-)

Flying and waiting

I'm sitting in the Club lounge at Heathrow waiting for my connecting flight to LA. Meanwhile I pass time being on internet :-) I went up at 4.10AM and my plane left at 7 AM. The flight from Stockholm to Heathrow went well. We were 20 minutes early and in the business class we were only 2 people! So plenty of room.  I suspect it will be a lot more on the next flight :-) I have been doing some shopping while here at Heathrow, some gifts and some other stuff. Always fun shopping, don't you think? I'll write later when I'm settled in. Take care everyone :-) By the way my clothing for this long trip (18 hours) is tights (kind of) and a H.E.A.T t-shirt :-)

Celebration :-)

What a wonderful day we have had! Hasse's 70th celebration with an Open House with 46 guests during the day, afternoon and evening. The day started with me and Mandy (Jonas girlfriend) making the birthdaycakes. Yesterday I made the gulaschsoup. Jonas helped Hasse with all the tables and chairs and also the outside furnitures. The first guests arrived at 1 PM and it was neighbours, one of Hasse's old workmates with wife and Sofie (Mandy's Mom). They enjoyed the soup and I showed them our (my works) cookbook which we made in December with all the recipes of 2010. The soup is one of the recipes in that book. At 2 - 2.30 PM there was a whole bunch coming among them everyone in H.E.A.T with girlfriends. So nice of them to take time and celebrate Hasse. Also a couple of H.E.A.T parents, of course, came. Our very good friends with whom we have travelled to Rhodes a couple of times came as well. We all sang to Hasse and you can imagine with all those great voices it sounded

Birthday and more.....

My Mom turned 87 last Saturday and on Sunday Helen, me and Danniel went to celebrate her. We had planned to take her out for lunch but on Saturday they called from the home where she lived and said she was still not well after her pneumonia. She had been in bed all week and couldn't even walk. So we changed our plans and brought cakes and presents to her in her room while having coffee. Very nice and she seemed better which was comforting. This week has been full of work. I need to to everything ready before my holiday. Also this week actually yesterday Hasse turned 70. I can't believe that! He still looks so young and fit despite his illness. Tomorrow Saturday we have Open House to celebrate him and we except around 46 friends and relatives to turn up. It will certainly be crowded but as we say in Sweden: If there are heartroom (love) there are butroom (room to sit down) :-) So today I'm cooking gulasch soup, baking bread, making cakes and more...... Should be a lot of

HILMA

Our beloved dog Hilma has gone to dog heaven to play with her parents and siblings. It was a sad, sad day this Tuesday. We knew she had cancer, was deaf and didn't see that well but she had been happy, eating well, drinking and doing her things until the last days. We had said that as long she's happy and eat she will stay home. Since she's been very ill during her life with operations, allergies and more we had taken that decision. Hilma as a H.E.A.T fan On Sunday she was tired and didn't want to go out. On Monday she was moaning, hardly ate anything and was also bleeding so we decided it was time. We called the vet and got time the next day. Me and Hasse went with her and they were so nice and we could go in via a separate entrance. She got her calming shot and came and lay down between me and Hasse seeking security and comfort. So we sat with her until her last minute and it was very calm and very peaceful but oh so so sad. When the vet had declared that she was
