Vacation time

Me and Hasse on boat sightseeing My Mom's cousin Kerstin - a wonderful lady. The Öresundsbridge in the background My suite - the wedding suite Time flies when you are on vacation. Don't you think? I haven't written since July 9 and I have been doing fun stuff since then. No long trip but shorter ones. Boat sightseeing with Turning Torso Me at the same restaurant with the Marina behind me One of the bridges we went under First I went to Malmö in Scania to visit my Mom's cousin which I try to do as often as I can. We had a wonderful afternoon/evening together first at her home and then at this beautiful restaurant almost on the water. We sat outside overlooking the Öresundsbridge, the sea and we could even see Copenhagen on the other side, so a very clear day/evening. Of course by the sea we had fish. Gorgeous and a glass good white wine to that. I stayed one more day and it was said that my cousins might be there but I never heard from...

4th of July

First of all I wish all of you my family and friends and readers from the USA a happy 4th of July! I'm sorry I haven't written for so long but I have been on holiday in Gotland and we have almost no internet connection there :-( Sometimes we get throgh but only for short periods which means I can't write my blog only make comments on Facebook. We did have a wonderful time in Gotland. When we arrived it was a thunder storm but the rest of the time we were there we had sunshine even if it was cold when we were out of the sun. But we had the best weather in Sweden anyway because there were rain- thunder- and halestorms as well as some tornados (which is rare for Sweden) and we had sunshine :-)  Visby harbor Most of the time we rested, just relaxed around the house but we also did some excursions. Like me and Emil went to Visby on our Mother-Son Day, something I have every summer with each and every one of my sons. It's a nice tradition and you get to talk to th...

Wonderful weekend

The fasade of the hotel a former mill (qvarn or kvarn means mill) and landmark Back home again after a wonderful weekend at "our" hotel. This time we stayed Friday-Sunday and this was (as I might have mentioned) my prize from the cooking competition at work. Part of our room We arrived on Friday at 2PM and didn't get our favorite room but the exact same room one floor below. We were this time greated with wine and chocolate in our room complimentary from the hotel. It's such a nice gesture which we totally appreciate. Thank you Elite :-) Here is the outside restaurant and in the window you see Hasse in our room Later in the afternoon Emil and Viktoria arrived and we had dinner together. And what a dinner it was. So good!! We were completely full after that and just went up to the room to relax before they headed home. Great evening and we fell asleep listening to the sound from the waves hitting the shore. What a way to sleep and to wake up to. ...

Sunday again and update

So it's Sunday again and I, as usual, don't know where time flies. I don't remember if I told you about the operation I went through last Thursday? Anyway they did have to take a tooth, empty a big abscess and the infection was so bad that the bone structure was gone and replaced by the infected tissue. I know, not a very nice picture. I did see it afterwards :-( I think I had like 10 stiches, can you imagine that in this small place but now as I can see the total picture I see that they had to open up even further back than I thought. For a week I couldn't open my mouth properly and haven't, of course, been able to eat as usual. I can't chew on that side now either but on the other side is OK. This is how I looked 6 days afterwards. Bruised and swollen although the operation was in the upper jaw. I also bought a new car this week. Meet my new blue Citroen C1. A beautiful compact car which is much more economy in driving to my work in. As the petrol her...

Hotellweekend in Stockholm

The view when we approach the hotel by boat (If you click on the photos they open up in bigger size) It's October 2 today and I'm just home after spending a wonderful weekend in Stockholm at our favorite hotel, Elite Marina Tower . This was my birthday gift from Hasse <3 and it was really thoughtful. I also got, last year, a gift card from my sister Helen which I used now. It was for a day at the National Museum including champagne with canapés at our arrival. Then viewing of the museum and after that a 2-course lunch with wine and coffee. We had the most wonderful reception when we came. A reserved table in the Atrium restaurant layed with champagne glasses and napkins.   Me in the grand entrance hall of National museum with Carl Larsson's painting Gustav Vasa's entrance into Stockholm in the background Hasse watching the old masters The restaurant manager, Karin, came and told us about our day. We really felt VIP the whole day. When we returned after the viewi...

Back home again

Sunset in Stockholm (taken from our hotel window) Now I'm back home again after celebrating holiday in various places. I haven't had access to a computer when in hotels but for short periods of time that's why I haven't been able to write on my blog either. Anyway we have had the most wonderful time. After Dalhalla we went to Helsinki on a cruise with Silja line, of course in Commodore cabin with a balcony :-) Then we stayed a couple of nights at the most gorgeous hotel, hotel Haven , very close to the city center and right beside the market square. After waiting for a long time we finally got our room (the room wasn't ready due to peopel not leaving in time but we got complimentary wine and beer while waiting) which was beautiful. Facing towards the market square, the harbour and the sea we had a great view. The loo had a big window so we really had a loo with a view ;-) Our toilet in Helsinki :-) One of the days we rented a car and drove to the old town of Bo...
