HOT HOT H.E.A.T

On July 9 I promised I would write more frequent - now it's July 30 and I haven't written since. So bad Mia. But on the other hand you may take it as I have had a lot of fun and haven't had time. Isn't vacation all about relaxing, doing things you want to but don't have the time to do the rest of the year. Or rather you probably have the time but then there are so many "musts" that you don't take the time. For me at least it is like that. When I work I go up at 4AM, starts working at 5.15AM and are home again around 3PM. By then I'm exhausted and I just crash in the sofa in front of TV and instantly falls asleep for around 20 minutes. Then on to cooking and other stuff. Go to bed by 9PM to be able to go up at 4AM and so it goes. So when I'm on vacation I just want to take it as it comes but I also wants to do things, se things, experience things but without stress and pressure. So what did I do then? A New year has begun but before that we had Christmas. Fireworks from our balcony. Hard to get good photos and a sense of how many there were New Year's dinner - main course I started my holiday on December 22 so I had a chance to fix all the things you need to do before you can celebrate. Like shopping for everything you need to prepare the food like the most important - the ham. Then to make the meatballs, the spareribs, the ham, the Christmas porridge and everything else you need. We had a very nice time together and very traditionally. Helen and her family had gone on a cruise from Barcelona to Maroc and the Canary islands so they weren't here. Jonas first real good laugh it was lot of snow and -7 C. The winter had been very long with lots of snow and it was still lot of it on April 17 at 4.30 AM when I woke up of my water breaking. I felt a very warm sensation and then suddenly realized it was time. Jonas in his right element We lived just a couple of 100 meters from the hospital so down we went. In to the delivery and then it stopped! From 6AM contractions but nothing really happened so they decided to get me started. Jonas today 15.27 my wonderful son, Jonas, was born and he has been a joy ever since he came. Today is his 30th birthday and I wish him all the good in the world. I hope he and his band get the world wide recognition they so well deserve.   My friends Ingvor and Annika (also members of the Rheumatic board, Annika as chairwoman)   Yesterday we, that is the Rheumatic association in Stockholm, had our annual meeting and I'm happy to report it all went well. I was re-elected treasurer for 2 years so I have obviously done something right ;-) Today we had lunch, that is the former working committe since one member will be be continue in the committee. We had a lovely lunch with lots of good food, chat and even some laughter. Tomorrow I'm going to take blood tests and also have my usual shot :-) Here are some photos from my work. It has been a while since I wrote and now it's a new month and all - March! Can you believe how fast January and February passed? Here in Sweden they say we have spring now, that is meteorological spring. That is when the temp. is above 0 C day and night. And it is but it's still not warm. Today for instance it's a very strong wind and it feels really cold. We did have one day with sunshine this week and how we treasure that :-) Last weekend we had our good friends K and J over for dinner. Very nice but I totally forgot to take photos. We had so much to talk about ;-) But I had made an asparagus soap with bread to start. Then ovencooked salmon with a lot of good stuff on top. To that I served homemade lemon aioli, potatoes and salat.  And for dessert I made a pecan/walnut fudgepie. After that we were completely full. A nice evening with good food and good friends. H.E.A.T members (3/5 of them) came, parents, family, friends and more. We had a very nice and cozy time. Among us a 50 year jubilar, that is Hasse's oldest son turned 50 today. So we sang and cheered for him. Very nice.  Helen's dog Pinglan They all liked what I have made and we had time to sit down and talk to everyone which was nice too. One funny thing is that one of our friends (it's Jonas friend but she has been like a child in our house for many years) is to perform at the Varmlandsopera in March where she will be performing in Monteverdis L'Orfeo. So I think I will try to get my operafriend to join me and go there. So now I'm off to bed. Up early as always tomorrow.   My friends Rubina, Annika and me Yesterday I had lunch with three good friends. All of them friends from the Rheumatic association. We met at Ingvor's place, a wonderful house, in beautiful summer weather. I came earlier so that we two could plan our road trip next week to Helsingborg. After a while came Annika who is the chair woman in our association in Stockholm. Me, Annika and Ingvor is part of our working committe in the association in Stockholm. We are 4 in the committee but one couldn't come because she's on holiday. It was so nice to sit down and talk, laugh and just relax together. After a while our friend Rubina joined us. She had been cooking the meal which was Indian (or maybe Pakistan) dishes. I don't know the name of things but I think one was called Dahl (or something like that). Good but very spicy. I had made Västerbotten pie and a big salat with feta cheese, avocado, salat, tomatoes, cucumber and more... And to that I had made a vinagraitt...
