Vasalopp Sunday

Here's some of the skiers on their way up the first hill

Nothing much has happened this week. Just ordinary stuff like working, cooking etc.

I did go to my hairstylist, Suzanne Clausen on Wednesday and you might have seen my new hairdo on Facebook. I really liked the new color. I have very light highlights in
the hair which makes me look very goldy blond.

The night to Wednesday Jonas, Mandy and their friends returned from Thailand. They were supposed to land 0.55AM but didn't arrive until 01.55AM. I was awake until 1 AM watching if the plane would be more delated.
Hasse was the one going out to Arlanda fetching them.
They had had a great time and Jonas strongly recommended us to go there.
I don't know, I'm more drawn to going west :-) Wonder why ;-)
From Thailand - doing faces :-)

Anyway today is one of Sweden's big days. Vasalopp day. I'm not sure you have heard of it?
It's a skirace over 90 km! Yes that is the longest skirace there is. It starts in Salen and ends in Mora. It's said to be the way Gustav Vasa went to warn the Dalkarlarna (men from Dalarna). That's why it's called Vasaloppet (loppet=race).
It's a mighty view to watch 15 000 skiers start at the same time. Always 8AM.
Some of them haven't come to Mora yet at 7PM. Think about that 12 hours skiing! I had 2 friends skiing today and they did great. One did his 32 (!) race and the other one his 6th I think.

  1. Marty really wants to go to Thailand. When I told him Jonas was there, he was jealous.

    The ski race looks wild!

WOW!!! I just have to say Wow!

Why do you ask? I just got a mail telling me that I have won a romantic trip to Paris for 2! I enrolled in this competition, last year, which was to write a slogan and I had forgot all about it when the mail came. I didn't remember it even then so I had to go to the site and see what it was :-) I'm so happy! and so is Hasse :-) We had a great Easter which started with a wonderful ballet, Giselle, at the Royal Opera with my friend Carina. We are going again tomorrow to see Puccinis Turandot :-) The next day Easter Day we went to Gavle and this time we actually stayed at a hotel, Elite Grand hotel. A newly opened hotel, March 1, where we had the executive suite. What a suite! I have to show you some photos. One of the best suites I've ever stayed in!   The suite taken from the "living-room area"  From the "cosy" area with wood burning stove   Our "little" bathroom with green marble Part of the bedroom What do yo...

BIRTHDAY, H.E.A.T, E.R and more...

Some of the wonderful flowers I got And some more Last week didn't start out well. On Monday I woke up and could hardly walk. I had such pain every step I tried to take. But off to work anyway. Tuesday even worse so I went to the doctor's office and asked to borrow crutches. Wednesday at work jumping on crutches, that must have been a sight ;-) But when I came home from work Wednesday I had fever so I went to bed quite early but didn't sleep well because of the constant pain. Thursday morning I woke up and had fever so I called the hospital and they said I had to go to the E.R. I hate that and if I can I always try to avoid it. But I was in so much pain I had to. I came and after a while they took bloodtests, urine and then I sat in a kind of smallish room. After being there for about 3 hours a doctor came and said I probably should see and orthopedic and not a medicine doctor. After one more hour another doctor came and said my bloodtest showed I had an i...

Today is 1st Advent and though my back is still hurting I could get through our traditional celebrations. That is we invite the H.E.A.T family including the guys, girlfriends, parents, siblings and other friends ;-) This year they could actually be here almost all of them. Last year, if you remember, they were recording their record and couldn't attend. Some of the guys from H.E.AT with girlfriends Then only one and his family that couldn't come today was Erik G and his family but that is because he turns 25 tomorrow and they were having a family celebration for him. HAPPY BIRTHDAY in advance Erik Me, Hasse, Dave, Annie, Bernt and Brita  The first guests arrived at 1PM and the last ones left at 4.15PM but it was never crowded because people came and left at different times. At one time all 30 were in place and it was crowded but oh so nice. Lot of chatting, drinking glögg which were everything from 0% alcohol til much more..... Also I had coffee, "snittar...
