This morning I called my sister Jo in California who had her birthday yesterday but since it's such a big difference in time it was Thursday evening 8.30 PM when I called and here it was already Friday and 6.30AM :-) Anyway I called and Hasse and I sang to her and then we talked for almost 30 minutes. So nice to hear her voice and instantly I feel like I want to be there. Especially since Jo said the kids wore shorts yesterday in school and they had temperatures around 22 C and that is on the plus!!! Happy birthday big sis. I love you :-) (sorry Jo, I know you don't like to have your pictures taken but I love the one of you by the fireplace and the other one is the first time I came to see you)
At the moment we are having around - 12C and it snowed for over 24 hours before it stopped last night. So that is when it really got cold. Up in the north they have had down to -35C. Can you who lives in California grasp that? I don't know what temp. you have in SLC but is it this cold? I know you got some snow but do you have 1/2 meter? Yesterday, as always when it snows, it was chaos in the traffic in Stockholm. Nothing worked! The buses couldn't function because they just slipped, the cars went very slowly, that is good, so long lines there too, and of course all the heavy traffic had difficulties coming up even the slightest hill. At one point traffic on E4 stood still for 5 hours. Then you really need to have something to drink and eat in your car and also something to keep you warm.

Tomorrow I'm going to the Royal Opera and see Elektra by Strauss. Very interesting and it's said to have beautiful music, be very hard to sing and is 1 h 45 min long without an interval.
Since it's the last Opera visit before the holidays we are having dinner together before the opera. I'm looking forward to that. Have a really cosy Friday evening and you out there who has a fireplace - use it and save energy (which is so high today)
