Busy, busy....

Long time now since I blogged properly but I have been keeping busy :-) Last weekend (Thursday) I went by train down to Malmo, Scania, to visit my mother's cousin Kerstin. I always stay at Elite hotel Savoy when in Malmö and this time as often before I had the corner junior suite. I stayed there for 3 nights. On Thursday I went out on town and walked around for a couple of hours adn then on Friday I also was out walking and shopping ;-) Then Kerstin came and fetched me by car and we drove home to her house in Limhamn. It's so nice to meet her and we have so much to talk about and discuss every time we meet. Considering she's 83 years old she is so with her time. She uses computer, mail, Facebook you name it. She also just recently bought a smartphone HTC. We started out with a glass (or two) of pink champagne. Then we had dinner which was smoked fish with new fresh potatoes a very good herbsauce and vegetables. To that we had a delicious Chablis. For dessert we had fr...

Nice Friday with visit....

Hasse, Lena and Staffan Yesterday we had very nice and dear visit from Staffan and Lena who also spent the night here. It started in the morning when we got a call from Gunilla who said she and Per were on their way to Stockholm and wondered if I could guide them around Rosersberg's castle. I said I'm so sorry but I can't today because S and L is coming and I have to go shopping, baking and cooking. So we decided we will meet on Sunday afternoon for a guide-tour :-) So I went shopping and bought fish - halibutfillet - among other things. Then back home where I baked a cake with raspberries on a spongecake and meringue on top. Very tasty. Then I made the white winesauce - yes again. The second time this week but this time even more rich and tastier (if possible). I cooked it for over 2 hours because the more it reduce the more taste you get. Then I placed the halibut on a bed of spinache, salted and peppered and poured a little bit of the sauce on top. Then into the ove...

TV-recording HOT HOT H.E.A.T

This is where I want to be now because it's so warm! Yesterday I spent 5 hours in a very hot studio being jury in a new TV-show in Sweden that is called True Talen t . It's kind of the same as the Voice but not. Let me try to explain. People have been sending in suggestions of great voices or they have sent it themselves. After that 3 coaches has choosen, I don't know how many each, the best voices in their opinion. Then it's our turn. We had to apply to be jury and then selected. The jury consist of 3 age-groups  - 0-25, 25-50 and 50+. In each group more than 50% must vote yes before allowed turning and see the artist and for the artist to go through to the next step all three agegroups must vote yes. I think it was around 10 or 12 artists yesterday and I really can't remember how many we voted to go through but I think at least 7 or 8. All of them had really good voices but in some cases they had that extra. I remember one of them that grabbed me from the st...

Back home again

Sunset in Stockholm (taken from our hotel window) Now I'm back home again after celebrating holiday in various places. I haven't had access to a computer when in hotels but for short periods of time that's why I haven't been able to write on my blog either. Anyway we have had the most wonderful time. After Dalhalla we went to Helsinki on a cruise with Silja line, of course in Commodore cabin with a balcony :-) Then we stayed a couple of nights at the most gorgeous hotel, hotel Haven , very close to the city center and right beside the market square. After waiting for a long time we finally got our room (the room wasn't ready due to peopel not leaving in time but we got complimentary wine and beer while waiting) which was beautiful. Facing towards the market square, the harbour and the sea we had a great view. The loo had a big window so we really had a loo with a view ;-) Our toilet in Helsinki :-) One of the days we rented a car and drove to the old town of Bo...

Weekend in Dalarna

The fireplace in our suite We are just back home after a wonderful weekend in Dalarna that didn't quite turn out the way we planned. We left early Friday morning going first to Gavle for a coffeebreak at Staffan's house. After that we continued to Svärdsjö to Per och Gunilla's place for lunch. Very good :-) Then off to Tällberg where we were supposed to see Diggiloo at Dalhalla which is outside. Since we live in Sweden you can't tell when the weather is fine or not even not at summer and Friday was the worst day ever. It rained and rained and then it rained even more. You know the rain that no umbrella or rainclothes can stand. You get wet no matter what. To make things worse it was just around 10C. So after checking in at Tällbergsgården and our beautiful suite we decided it wasn't worth going to Dalhalla and perhaps get pneumonia so we had a wonderful 3-course dinner with wine. Then we took some wine over to our suite, let a fire in the open fireplace and had ...

Holiday

Yes, I'm on holiday and therefore don't have much to write about. Yesterday we throw out the bathtub and turned the bathroom into a shower room. Very nice and something I have been wanting to do for a long time. Today I went to my work (I know I have holiday but still) to check the mail, pay some invoices and water the flowers. Good thing I did because when I looked into the fridge there was a big pack of ice-cream melting away so I throw that away along with some other stuff that was there. Tomorrow we are off to Dalarna and of course they have predicted rain (it hasn't rained for a long long time) when we are to sit outside the whole evening. Also the temperature that has been very warm lately is said to be 10C!! So warm clothes and shoes. Otherwise nothing much has happened which is actually quite nice. That is holiday being able to do nothing :-) Have a good day everyone (or night depending on where you are)
