Nice Friday with visit....

 Hasse, Lena and Staffan

Yesterday we had very nice and dear visit from Staffan and Lena who also spent the night here.
It started in the morning when we got a call from Gunilla who said she and Per were on their way to Stockholm and wondered if I could guide them around Rosersberg's castle. I said I'm so sorry but I can't today because S and L is coming and I have to go shopping, baking and cooking.
So we decided we will meet on Sunday afternoon for a guide-tour :-)
So I went shopping and bought fish - halibutfillet - among other things. Then back home where I baked a cake with raspberries on a spongecake and meringue on top. Very tasty. Then I made the white winesauce - yes again. The second time this week but this time even more rich and tastier (if possible). I cooked it for over 2 hours because the more it reduce the more taste you get. Then I placed the halibut on a bed of spinache, salted and peppered and poured a little bit of the sauce on top. Then into the oven for about 15-20 minutes. I served with fresh new potatoes cooked in dill and a fresh green salat and of course the sauce. It was so tasty (if I may say so myself) The others also loved it, so much that we ate all fish which is great review :-)
I must tell you that we had a great Chablis to go with the wine. Delicious!!! The best wine you can have with a good fishdish. And of course to the winesacue I used a great Chardonnay. The finer wine the better sauce!

For dessert Lena and I went out to the ice-cream car that came just as we were ready for dessert. So icecream it was :-)

Today it's a chill day but tomorrow I'm off to see Mom and also celebrate Helen's birthday. We will meet at Mom's and have some coffee and cake and hopefully I will have got Helen's birthdaygift by then. I have bought her some jewelleries from ByCelina which is a friend of mine who makes the most beautiful and modern pieces.

In the afternoon I will go to Rosersberg to guide Gunilla and Per so a full day of joy.

Next week I will be off to Malmö to visit Kerstin who is my Mom's cousin. That will be so nice. I really love her and we always have so much fun when we meet.

WOW!!! I just have to say Wow!

Why do you ask? I just got a mail telling me that I have won a romantic trip to Paris for 2! I enrolled in this competition, last year, which was to write a slogan and I had forgot all about it when the mail came. I didn't remember it even then so I had to go to the site and see what it was :-) I'm so happy! and so is Hasse :-) We had a great Easter which started with a wonderful ballet, Giselle, at the Royal Opera with my friend Carina. We are going again tomorrow to see Puccinis Turandot :-) The next day Easter Day we went to Gavle and this time we actually stayed at a hotel, Elite Grand hotel. A newly opened hotel, March 1, where we had the executive suite. What a suite! I have to show you some photos. One of the best suites I've ever stayed in!   The suite taken from the "living-room area"  From the "cosy" area with wood burning stove   Our "little" bathroom with green marble Part of the bedroom What do yo...

Christmas gift

For Christmas I got a giftcard to Amazon.com from my sister Jo. It was a real treat to go to the site, explore and find something to buy. There are so many things there and it's hard to choose. For me, leaving in Sweden, it's a bit easier. I just cross the square that says "ships to Sweden" and I get all the things I can order. My choice was Bliss socks and a big bottle of Dermalogica body cream. They came today and I'm so happy. So once again a big thank you big sis for the generous gift.

BIRTHDAY, H.E.A.T, E.R and more...

Some of the wonderful flowers I got And some more Last week didn't start out well. On Monday I woke up and could hardly walk. I had such pain every step I tried to take. But off to work anyway. Tuesday even worse so I went to the doctor's office and asked to borrow crutches. Wednesday at work jumping on crutches, that must have been a sight ;-) But when I came home from work Wednesday I had fever so I went to bed quite early but didn't sleep well because of the constant pain. Thursday morning I woke up and had fever so I called the hospital and they said I had to go to the E.R. I hate that and if I can I always try to avoid it. But I was in so much pain I had to. I came and after a while they took bloodtests, urine and then I sat in a kind of smallish room. After being there for about 3 hours a doctor came and said I probably should see and orthopedic and not a medicine doctor. After one more hour another doctor came and said my bloodtest showed I had an i...
