Weekend in Dalarna

 The fireplace in our suite
We are just back home after a wonderful weekend in Dalarna that didn't quite turn out the way we planned.
We left early Friday morning going first to Gavle for a coffeebreak at Staffan's house. After that we continued to Svärdsjö to Per och Gunilla's place for lunch. Very good :-) Then off to Tällberg where we were supposed to see Diggiloo at Dalhalla which is outside. Since we live in Sweden you can't tell when the weather is fine or not even not at summer and Friday was the worst day ever. It rained and rained and then it rained even more. You know the rain that no umbrella or rainclothes can stand. You get wet no matter what. To make things worse it was just around 10C.

So after checking in at Tällbergsgården and our beautiful suite we decided it wasn't worth going to Dalhalla and perhaps get pneumonia so we had a wonderful 3-course dinner with wine. Then we took some wine over to our suite, let a fire in the open fireplace and had a very cosy, and warm, time :-)

Next morning we had a great breakfast before leaving for Söderbärke and our good friends Pär and Brita (H.E.A.T-parents) who has this paradiseplace with a lakeview. We love every time we are there. It's just gorgeous and so peaceful. So we went around and ended up at Tolvsbo inn where we had a glass of wine and then back home to their place for some BBQ.
I must tell you that when we sat at Tolvsbo the sun came and the rest of the evening we had the most gorgeous weather and were able to sit outside eating.
This morning Hasse and I took a walk and when we came back we had a wonderful breakfast before leaving.
This time we took small roads back and ended up in Västerås where we had lunch before going the last distance home.

So now we have a couple of days at home before heading to Helsinki :-)

By the way I'm cheering for the USA women team in socker now that Sweden's out. Go USA!

WOW!!! I just have to say Wow!

Why do you ask? I just got a mail telling me that I have won a romantic trip to Paris for 2! I enrolled in this competition, last year, which was to write a slogan and I had forgot all about it when the mail came. I didn't remember it even then so I had to go to the site and see what it was :-) I'm so happy! and so is Hasse :-) We had a great Easter which started with a wonderful ballet, Giselle, at the Royal Opera with my friend Carina. We are going again tomorrow to see Puccinis Turandot :-) The next day Easter Day we went to Gavle and this time we actually stayed at a hotel, Elite Grand hotel. A newly opened hotel, March 1, where we had the executive suite. What a suite! I have to show you some photos. One of the best suites I've ever stayed in!   The suite taken from the "living-room area"  From the "cosy" area with wood burning stove   Our "little" bathroom with green marble Part of the bedroom What do yo...

Christmas gift

For Christmas I got a giftcard to Amazon.com from my sister Jo. It was a real treat to go to the site, explore and find something to buy. There are so many things there and it's hard to choose. For me, leaving in Sweden, it's a bit easier. I just cross the square that says "ships to Sweden" and I get all the things I can order. My choice was Bliss socks and a big bottle of Dermalogica body cream. They came today and I'm so happy. So once again a big thank you big sis for the generous gift.

BIRTHDAY, H.E.A.T, E.R and more...

Some of the wonderful flowers I got And some more Last week didn't start out well. On Monday I woke up and could hardly walk. I had such pain every step I tried to take. But off to work anyway. Tuesday even worse so I went to the doctor's office and asked to borrow crutches. Wednesday at work jumping on crutches, that must have been a sight ;-) But when I came home from work Wednesday I had fever so I went to bed quite early but didn't sleep well because of the constant pain. Thursday morning I woke up and had fever so I called the hospital and they said I had to go to the E.R. I hate that and if I can I always try to avoid it. But I was in so much pain I had to. I came and after a while they took bloodtests, urine and then I sat in a kind of smallish room. After being there for about 3 hours a doctor came and said I probably should see and orthopedic and not a medicine doctor. After one more hour another doctor came and said my bloodtest showed I had an i...
