Pep talk and meeting

Another week is almost over and this is the weather we currently have. It snowed for almost 24 hours and now the temperature is dropping, just now -7C. So it's very fresh and cold ;-) I had been invited to a meeting, with the leaders of the Stockholm association, and yesterday it was time. They wanted me to have a "pep talk". That was just to inspire them for future tasks. I am the one standing up laughing away :-) The room was actually full and it was very inspiring talking to them. I'm not that fond of speaking in front of lot of people, who are? But I do it and it gets easier the older I get. Anyway I started by telling them about the Postcode lottery, how I won, what I won, how I ended up in TV and in our magazine. That was actually something they had asked me to talk about. They were really interested, they laughed and they did have a lot of questions. Then I talked about the event we are having May 23 in Haga park in celebration of the National Rheum...

Inflammation and resting

Did I share this with you before? It's the magazine with the article that was the outcome of the interview at the Postcode lottery. This weekend has been quite calm not because I wanted to but I had to. Let me begin from the beginning. Last week all activities started again like the Rheumatic association and we started with a budget meeting which I lead. Then we had working committe meeting and after that (but really the whole day) I was so tired and also in much pain. So the next day I could hardly sit, walk, lie down or do nothing. Of course inflammation again in the joints of the pelvis. It's very painful, I get a kind of flu feeling. You know when you feel like you have a temperature, you are freezing and you are shivering and feel kind of sick and with bad pain in your joints. That's how I feel when I get these inflammations and it makes me, whether I want it or not, take it easy. I had been looking forward to Sunday (yesterday) when I and my opera friend sh...

The snowstorm Egon

Our Christmas tree covered in snow. Can you see it's still snowing? It's so nice that we let it stay there for a while longer :-) Yesterday we had class 2 warning on our weather. Apparantly there had been a hurricane over Scotland that came to us. We weren't the hardest to be hit by it, but on the Swedish west coast there were floodings by the sea. When it is weather like this it's so nice to stay inside and just cuddle up in the sofa reading a good book or watching some film you have wanted to see for a long time or like me be on the computer telling you about the weather ;-) Of course I cook as well. Like last night we were kind of froozen so I made a lovely Jerusalem artichoke soup. It was so good and warmed us. Today I'm making a roast pork with mashed potatoes and carrots. American Idol has started and I really love that show. Especially with the judges that are on now. They seem to have fun together which I like. Jonas is in Thailand and to...

Full moon and back to work

Yesterday night we had the most amazing full moon. It was also pretty cold with clear sky so you could really see the moon. It's just beautiful. The bad side of the full moon is that I have trouble sleeping and are a bit anxious. After this has happened many times I see the that it always happens at full moon. Any of you feel the full moon?  Tomorrow I'm going back to work after being on holiday for 2 weeks. It will be hard to get up tomorrow morning at 4.30AM since I have being going up at 7-7.30AM during the holidays. I have also been able to take naps when I felt like it and I certainly have been doing that especially since I got the inflammation in my SE joint in my back. I'm on medication now so much better. But it's so typical that you get ill when you are on holiday isn't it? Anyway a hard week ahead ;-) I work tomorrow and then I'm off until Monday when I really start. Hope you are well all of you reading this and that you have had a wonderful ...

January 4 2015

H.E.A.T's new live album recorded in London, to be released February 20th. I'm still on holiday from work which is kind of nice. I can sleep-in in the mornings, don't have to get up at 04.30AM but can stay in bed until 7-7.30 :-) We had Helen and her family here for dinner on Friday and also my boys came so we were a big crowd having a lot of fun, eating good.   Josefa, the taco gratin was a huge success and it was the first time we ate tacos like that but not the last.  Everyone ate a lot and when it was time for dessert they sadly enough were too full to even try to finish :-) Well, there you go, the lesson to be learned, always save a little place for the dessert ;-) Now I have only two days left before returning to work on Wednesday. Then I'm off again Thursday-Friday so really all starts Monday 12th. Nothing much happens. We are just taking it easy, watch TV, answering all mails I haven't had time to answer before. I hope you all also have a goo...

A brand NEW YEAR 2015 - a recap of 2014

Last year, 2014, was filled with work, pleasure and fun. But a lot of hard work and therefore much needed with the pleasure in between. My favorites this year was my visit to my sister Jo in LA and my 60th birthday which also was kind of sad because none of my sisters were able to attend. On the other hand I had my children, my bonus children and my bonus grandchildren at the party along with lot of musical friends. January : After 3 weeks off work  I was back with loads of work and a new time tracking system. Closing the books work started and I was in Gothenburg on a economic course February : Olympics and Sweden made the best Olympics yet. Danniel had birthday and we all went to dinner at his house. H.E.A.T's first single and video from the new album was released. Saw the opera Salome which was great. Local yearly meeting with the Rheumatic asssociation. March : H.E.A.T in Madrid supporting Scorpions. Dinner with Rheumatic association at Borsen. VIP-event on Silja l...

and then we celebrated Christmas Day in Gavle

On our way China but in Sweden, Dragon gate, on the way to Gavle The following morning at 0830 we left for Christmas celebration in Gavle. We haven't been there for a while and this time both Jonas, Emil and Mandy joined which was very nice :-) Meanwhile Danniel was so nice to look after Pinglan. Big thanks Danniel! My sister Helen's dog Pinglan who we "dog sit" since they are in Dubai for the holidays  The further north we came the more snow it was and also colder. By the time we reached Gavle we had -14 C and the coldest was -16C. That is cold and I do understand Sandy loving the California climate :-) Wouldn't mind that myself. Back to Gavle where there also were a lot of snow. When you walked there was this lovely creak, which I do like. It's far better than the icy streets we often have here in the Stockholm region. In Gunillas living room Gunilla in front of the fire place Anyway we first visited Gunilla and Per in their ...
