Broken toe :-(

I don't know if you can see how swollen the toe and the whole foot is but it is swollen! It's the toe that looks like a small sausage as we say in Sweden prinskorv Yes, last night I woke up and went to the bathroom. I never turn the light on because then I get wide awake. So I did what I came for and then when I turned to wash my hands, yes still in the dark, I smashed my foot into a chair.  There is never a chair there normally. It's in the shower but now for some reason someone, H, had put it there. It hurt like h...l and I had to turn the light on. What I saw was the second toe, beside the pinkie toe, in almost 90 degrees angle. I suppose I was still sleepy because I thought I can't have it this way. So I took the toe and bent it back to an upright position and I can tell you it hurt!!!!! I had trouble sleeping after that because every position I tried in bed hurt in my foot. A little toe can hurt that much?!?  Well, it does. Because I was in horisontal pos...

Cruise to Åbo (Turku) with the boys

View from our suite. Gorgeous! Last weekend I didn't do much. No exciting outings or anything, just hanging around the house. On Tuesday I went to a friend for dinner. She has her birthday on Sunday so me and our other friend met up at her house to celebrate her. Very nice and a very good dinner. Father and son Mother and son Then on Thursday I first went to Norrtalje for some treatment, chat and lunch with my very good friend Anne. She is so good in reflexology and that helps me a lot. We had a wonderful lunch at the Åtellet in Norrtälje before I headed back home. At home the boys, Danniel, Emil and Hasse waited for me because we were going on a cruise to Åbo in Finland which we treated Danniel and Emil to. Hasse and me had one of those luxurious suites with big balcony and the boys had a A cabin with window very close to our suite. Why wasn't Jonas with us you may ask? Well, he was in Gothenburg with H.E.A.T playing at the Gothenburg culture festival. ...

Thursday and a look back...

I have to share this with you. This is taken in August 1986 and the photo on top is me, Danniel and Jonas  in Visby. The photo below is our dear friends visiting us at our house in Gotland. There is me and opposite Janne. Beside him Anne and next to her Johnny and then her daughter Johanna. Beside me is Kitte. The children is probably playing somewhere and that would be Danniel, Andreas, Robert and Jonas :-) What a lovely day that was. Back to now. Here in Sweden we have had a heatwave from 1 July and still. This has caused a massive forestfire which is now on its 7th day. 1 dead and 1 fighting for his life. A cop ran over by a person that wanted to go in where it is stop. She is now in hospital with brain injury.  Another fire started today again in another forest area. We have help now from planes that carries large amounts of water. They come from France and Italy. Also helicopters from Norway is helping out. This is the largest fire in Sweden in modern ti...

What a wonderful trip and concert this was!

Since last I wrote I have been on a trip to the archipelago of Sankt Anna in Ostergotland This is where we were together with my good friend Ingvor. We took my little blue car and down we went. It's not that far. It takes around 3,5 hours but that includes a stop for lunch. We had lunch at Soderkoping's brunn which is a very old brunn in fact the second oldest company in Sweden. It was founded in 1774. After the lunch which was served on the glassed veranda (not very nice when it was over 30C) we drove the last bit down to Stegeborg's garden hotel which was the most delightful little hotel that I found just 2 days before we went.  The hotel - beautiful surroundings The thing is that I had previously booked a hostel by the sea but then I read that it didn't have a toilet or shower en suite but you would have to go down a steep stair to get to it and that is was a shared shower and toilet like for both men and women. Not interested in that! And the st...

Mother-Son Day with Jonas

Me and Jonas on the ferry Did we have a wonderful day? Yes we did. Was it hot? YES, it was and still is! We still have, at 10.30PM 24C!!! It's gonna be hard sleeping again. The eating started :-) The day started out with a quick rise of temperature so when we left Väsby for unknown territory it was well around 29C.  Gorgeous soup, västerbottenpie and omelette Me and Jonas by the table. Look at the view outside! The toilets are supernice and very beautiful like this basin in marble I had booked a table for lunch at Artipelag at Värmdö. If you have read my blog before you know I have been there and love the place. It's a artcenter but not only that because the house is huge and have both exhibitions inside as well as outside. The place was built by the inventor of Baby Björn (you know the one you carry your babies in). He personally invested money in this and everything is built so it suits children, grownups, disabled and elderly. He thought o...

Mother-son day with my oldest

Me and Danniel outside the castle. It's not the house behind us which is a wing) Yesterday I had my mother-son day with Danniel who is my oldest. I try to go to interesting places and often two different during the day. I don't tell them in advance. It's funnier that way :-) The big pool (we didn't bath since we had no bathing clothes) which was the first outdoor pool in Sweden built in the 30's Beautiful ceiling in the dining room. There was a castle here already during the Vikings in the 900 Danniel and I went to Häringe castle which is on the way to Nynäshamn. We have passed there so many times during our trips to Gotland but never actually went in there. So now it was time. The weather was superb or rather very hot. But my car has AC so it's OK driving, but when you get out that's a different matter. I had booked for lunch and they showed us the terrace. But with temp. over 100F we couldn't possibly sit there so we asked to be seate...

Vacation time

Me and Hasse on boat sightseeing My Mom's cousin Kerstin - a wonderful lady. The Öresundsbridge in the background My suite - the wedding suite Time flies when you are on vacation. Don't you think? I haven't written since July 9 and I have been doing fun stuff since then. No long trip but shorter ones. Boat sightseeing with Turning Torso Me at the same restaurant with the Marina behind me One of the bridges we went under First I went to Malmö in Scania to visit my Mom's cousin which I try to do as often as I can. We had a wonderful afternoon/evening together first at her home and then at this beautiful restaurant almost on the water. We sat outside overlooking the Öresundsbridge, the sea and we could even see Copenhagen on the other side, so a very clear day/evening. Of course by the sea we had fish. Gorgeous and a glass good white wine to that. I stayed one more day and it was said that my cousins might be there but I never heard from...
