Thursday and a look back...

I have to share this with you. This is taken in August 1986 and the photo on top is me, Danniel and Jonas  in Visby. The photo below is our dear friends visiting us at our house in Gotland. There is me and opposite Janne. Beside him Anne and next to her Johnny and then her daughter Johanna. Beside me is Kitte. The children is probably playing somewhere and that would be Danniel, Andreas, Robert and Jonas :-) What a lovely day that was.

Back to now. Here in Sweden we have had a heatwave from 1 July and still. This has caused a massive forestfire which is now on its 7th day. 1 dead and 1 fighting for his life. A cop ran over by a person that wanted to go in where it is stop. She is now in hospital with brain injury.
Another fire started today again in another forest area. We have help now from planes that carries large amounts of water. They come from France and Italy. Also helicopters from Norway is helping out. This is the largest fire in Sweden in modern time.

We have a lot of thunderstorms going on with flooding as follow (but not in the areas where the fire is) but the rain coming down isn't enough.

Other than that I have been working and that has been somewhat of an ordeal. No AC and no fans. But I didn't give up and on Mondayt I found some fans and bought 4. They were supposed to come today but luckily they came already the day after and was a relief but still it just fan the hot air we have.

My beautiful sister Helen

Sisters me and Helen
I also saw my dentist yesterday, who happens to be my sister :-) It's her birthday tomorrow so I gave her her birthday gift yesterday already. It's a luxury cruise to Helsinki with the Rock boat. And yes, before yo ask - H.E.A.T will be playing as well as Survivor and a lot of other bands. We will, of course, be staying in a Commodore suite :-) She was very happy for that gift. And I hadn't any caries but I in one of my front teeth I had a sliver and she built it up again so now the tooth is as good as new.
Commodore cabin
Nothing more to report. I will take it easy this weekend and rest. I have an inflammation going on in my leg which I hope will cure soon.

Have a nice weekend everyone and take care!

WOW!!! I just have to say Wow!

Why do you ask? I just got a mail telling me that I have won a romantic trip to Paris for 2! I enrolled in this competition, last year, which was to write a slogan and I had forgot all about it when the mail came. I didn't remember it even then so I had to go to the site and see what it was :-) I'm so happy! and so is Hasse :-) We had a great Easter which started with a wonderful ballet, Giselle, at the Royal Opera with my friend Carina. We are going again tomorrow to see Puccinis Turandot :-) The next day Easter Day we went to Gavle and this time we actually stayed at a hotel, Elite Grand hotel. A newly opened hotel, March 1, where we had the executive suite. What a suite! I have to show you some photos. One of the best suites I've ever stayed in!   The suite taken from the "living-room area"  From the "cosy" area with wood burning stove   Our "little" bathroom with green marble Part of the bedroom What do yo...

Christmas gift

For Christmas I got a giftcard to Amazon.com from my sister Jo. It was a real treat to go to the site, explore and find something to buy. There are so many things there and it's hard to choose. For me, leaving in Sweden, it's a bit easier. I just cross the square that says "ships to Sweden" and I get all the things I can order. My choice was Bliss socks and a big bottle of Dermalogica body cream. They came today and I'm so happy. So once again a big thank you big sis for the generous gift.

BIRTHDAY, H.E.A.T, E.R and more...

Some of the wonderful flowers I got And some more Last week didn't start out well. On Monday I woke up and could hardly walk. I had such pain every step I tried to take. But off to work anyway. Tuesday even worse so I went to the doctor's office and asked to borrow crutches. Wednesday at work jumping on crutches, that must have been a sight ;-) But when I came home from work Wednesday I had fever so I went to bed quite early but didn't sleep well because of the constant pain. Thursday morning I woke up and had fever so I called the hospital and they said I had to go to the E.R. I hate that and if I can I always try to avoid it. But I was in so much pain I had to. I came and after a while they took bloodtests, urine and then I sat in a kind of smallish room. After being there for about 3 hours a doctor came and said I probably should see and orthopedic and not a medicine doctor. After one more hour another doctor came and said my bloodtest showed I had an i...
