Coffeedate, H.E.A.T meeting

Today I was to meet my former co-worker for a coffeedate. Well that is we wanted to meet and chat about what has happened since we saw each other the last time. We decided to meet outside our mall and while I stood there waiting for her I suddenly saw Eric and Stina. Eric is guitarist in H.E.A.T and Stina his girlfriend. I knew the band was going to rehearse so Eric was on the way to that. While we were standing there chatting Lotta came and a few minutes later another of our fomer co-workers came. We had no idea she was there but when she heard we were going to have coffee she wanted to come too. I presented them to Eric and Stina and then Eric was off. Stina was to wait for Jossa who is the girlfriend of the other guitarist, Dave. We went to Waynes coffee in the mall and had a lovely time catching up with peoples whereabouts. One was pregnant, two had got married, one had got a new job etc etc. Very nice and a lot of laughters too. Suddenly Jossa and Stina came and they sat down a co

Rheumatic association, Mandy

Yesterday we had our annual meeting at the Rheumatic association of Sollentuna-Upplands Vasby-Sigtuna and I was elected chairman. This is a big and important task but with the board elected yesterday I think we have a wonderful team and can work for our members in a good way. One of our biggest events this year is our 30th anniversary which will be celebrated on April 18. Another is a trip we plan to do to Gota Kanal . I have to place a photo of M here on this blog. I think she's beautiful and this photo is taken at the Melodifestival in Skelleftea. She's my son J's girlfriend and I'm so happy that he's found her. They are happy together and I see that J feels good when he's with her and I see that she really cares for him and that's all that matters and it warms a mother's heart. As a bonus I have gained a new friend in her mother S who is a wonderful person with whom I shared a lot of laughter in Skelleftea. -9C and sunshine today, brr.

Fever is down and I'm starting to feel like myself..

And today it's Saturday again. Where did this week go. Well, I do know since I slept most of it. Last week this time we were in the arena in Skelleftea waiting for the whole thing to start. Today we are watching next partfinal this time from Leksand, Dalarna. We have to see who the competition will be for H.E.A.T. It's a nice way to spend a Saturday evening especially since I love the Melodifestival. This partfinal is said to have no good songs. So we have to see if we agree with that too. Our main problem now is tickets to the Globe. Of course we all want to go there and cheer like we did last Saturday. But the thing is that the Globe is sold out or almost anyway. There are ticket to get by at ridicolously high prices but perhaps we will get some at least. We don't know that yet. It is also quite expensive since the tickets aren't that cheap. But this is once in a lifetime and I'm sure this will never come back again so better make the most of it. Carpe Diem, I say

Sick :-(

Now it's official. I can't be in a cold enviroment. Yesterday I started coughing and my asthma came too. I had to take inhalers but still wasn't good. This morning I woke up and had fever 38,2 C so I took a pill and went back to bed. I have been lying in bed all day but now I'm up for a while and my temp. is now 38,7C so not very good. I'm coughing and have a hard time breathing. I will have a cup of tea now and then back to bed again. I'm so so sad because today, right now actually, our municipality is congratulating the boys in H.E.A.T and the press will be there as well. I hoped I could have gone anyway but I had to realize that it was out of the question. Well, it's back to bed now. I sure hope I will get better soon.

H.E.A.T wins the tryout and goes to the Globe

I'm home again after a wonderful, happy, crazy weekend in a happy bubble. But let me begin when we arrived in Skelleftea on Friday. The first thing we see outside the airplane window is snow - white wonderful snow, a blue sky and sunshine. When we came out it was rather cold -16C but fresh and lovely air. We had rented a car and drove to the camping where we had booked rooms. A wonderful house met us. It's a kind of hostel but with hotel standard - Galaxen hostel - Our rooms were very nice and had a wonderful view. Isn't it like a painting? The whole day long people arrived and at night some of us went to the dress rehearsal. Others like me stayed at home. After the dress rehearsal they came back and so did some of the guys. We had a very nice time together with them and they said it felt OK. The big day we spent downtown shopping last minute details, talking to people on town (they were so nice everyone) and even met some we knew (of course they were from our entourage).

Tryouts for the Swedish Eurovison song contest

OK, tomorrow we are off. I'm just now waiting for L to come and shortly after her M and S will come. So it's like S said: Mia's bed & breakfast. Not a bad idea really. OK now it's for real - Saturday February 14, Valentine's Day, you need to call 099-230 04 and support H.E.A.T so they will go to the big final in the Globe in Stockholm. Or if you don't manage that at least so they will go to the second chance. All we can do now is call and call and hope for the best and hope that everyone else in Sweden watching, like 3.3 million people, realizes how good they are, how much they love to perform and how much they love music. I hope it will go through the TV and into people's livingrooms. They really truly are a liveband and I hope it shows. So I won't be writing for a couple of days since I don't have a portable computer, yet. I'm looking into buying one soon though. If I am to open my own business I do believe I need one. Talk to you late Sund

Change of plans...

Panic broke loose tonight. Our dog sitter called and said he has the flu. What to do? We tried everyone and everywhere we could think of but since she's in heat noone wants to take her. We finally decided that H will stay home and that we would replace him with someone. But who? We called L in Gavle and she said yes so she suddenly had to figure out what to bring and then come down already tomorrow evening. The plane leaves so early that she wouldn't have been able to make it going down on Friday morning. We will have more houseguests tomorrow night. Both M and her Mom S is coming to stay the night. They live so far and akward that they would have to get up at night to be in time at Arlanda. We haven't met S before, I have just talked to her on FB and on phone so very excited to meet her. But her daughter is lovely so I think she's too - like mother like child. It's too bad H can't come but I know he has been doubting it for a while. He thinks it's so hard w

TV with H.e.a.t

Just wanted to share this TV-interview with H.e.a.t, in Swedish of course, but you can see Jona in the background almost all the time. Also interview with the favoroutie to win the whole thing, Måns and with the Melodifestival general, Christer Björkman. TV-interview I'm sure more will come since I know they have interviews right now and later today.

It's getting closer, 099-230 04 is the number to call on Saturday

I read yesterday that almost 3,5 million Swedes saw the first part of the Swedish tryouts to Eurovision song contest. Without doubt the most seen program in TV the whole year. So a very good way to let people see you. Saturday it's H.e.a.t's turn to be seen in this program. Plans are taking place now among us going there to see them. What to wear? what weather will it be? How to get to and from the airport? I talked to Skelleftea yesterday and the man I spoke to (car rental dealer) told me that the last few days there had snowed over 1/2 meter and was still snowing as we spoke. The temperature yesterday was -14C and it's predicted to be between -8C - -14C but with the windchill that really means -15C - -21C. So cold weather, New Yorkers that talks about arctic weather at -10C have never been in Northland in Sweden during winter I think :-) We are taking underpants, warm sweaters, wollen scarf and thick gloves. No chances here. I want to share a clip from Swedish TV with you

Lazy weekend

This weekend has been really dull with foggy weather and the snow melting away. What to do then? Well I have been so much out and about that this weekend was really welcome. Do you know what I have been doing? I have started reading the trilogy of Stieg Larsson about Millenium. The first book was awesome. I could hardly stop reading, or reading for that matter. I have listened to it as audio book and I have never been able to do that before but this reader was so good - Reine Brynolfsson. They have of course made a film of it and it premieres on February 27. I really would love to read all parts before I see the movie. Last night we saw the Swedish Pre Eurovision contest, of course, the first part that took place in Gothenburg. There were a lot of new rules this year and very confusing. It seemed like neither Petra nor the artists really know what the new rules were. Anyway straight to the final went Alcazar and Emilia. To the second chance Scotts and Caroline af Ugglas who also was v

H.E.A.T in Gothenburg and Stockholm

OK I admit - I am a big H.E.A.T fan :-) But how can you not be? Anyway on Sunday I took the train down to Gothenburg. You get the picture - only big towns :) On Monday my course started - Accounting IV - sounds funny doesn't it? Anyway our teacher turned out to be from Dalarna and cheering for Leksand hockeyteam, which also H does. He also is a big hard rock fan and one of the first things he said was that he was to see AC/DC on Feb 20. I asked him if he knew H.E.A.T but he hadn't heard about them so I told him if he wanted he could come with me that night to see them. After long thoughts he decided not to because he had to work at night but I can tell you it was a very hard decision for him. Furthermore at lunch he came up to me and said: Do you know anyone called Thegel working in a bank. Yes, I said it's S in Gavle and he's my husband's son. It turned out they had been playing pingpong when they were young although my teacher was 10 years older than S (that'
