HOT HOT H.E.A.T

This is my first day of my summer holiday and the weather couldn't be better :-) I worked so hard this week to get everything done so I could go and have a nice holiday. Today I'm not doing much. We just had coffee in the garden which was nice. Sunny with a warm breeze. Tomorrow I'm going to see Mom. She wanted me to buy her some new clothes which I have done so I will take them to her then. Next week are we going to Dalarna to see Diggiloo. Then to our good friends in their paradise in Söderbärke for a nice evening. It's always so nice to meet them and to be in their paradise.   Paradise in Dalarna After that we are going on a cruise to Helsinki where we will be staying at hotel for a couple of days. Maybe doing some excursions by boat and when we are back we will have a BBQ evening here with family and friends followed by a couple of nights at hotel in Stockholm (!) Today was really a hot, h.e.a.t day :-) In the morning I first went to see my Mom and since the weather was very nice and warm I took her out for a walk in her wheelchair. She really enjoyed it and after we have walked for 20 minutes we on our way back sat down on a bench in the shadow and had some breeze coming which was really really nice. She was really alert today and I was so happy about it. She even said it was sad that I had to go. Then I went to Danniel. We had decided to go out for lunch (since the cruise didn't happen this weekend). So we started out with two different restaurants. Both turned out to be booked and had no place. So we continued on a beautiful countryroad leading down to Nynäshamn because we thought there might be a restaurant on the way down, but no. So we ended up in Nynäshamn. I do know a place there called Nynäs havsbad which is actually a spahotel by the Baltic sea so I didn't know if you could just have lunch there but luckily  you could :-) ...

  Beautiful sunset when we last cruised to Helsinki in 2009 I've been working since we got back from Dalarna and we have had really hot weather. Today is so humid and it feels like thunder but not anything yet though. I do hope it will come so my head will clear and you won't feel as moist all over.  Göran was the grillmaster together with Max Carola, Anders and Ulf Today we had a very nice lunch. The whole office (except for Lasse who's on holiday on Öland already and Helena who is in California) came together and BBQ. I bought all the stuff yesterday and what did we have? Of course hamburgers. Classical BBQ and with everything to go. Luckily we have the grill next door so they made some french fries and then we had all the sauces, tomatoes, onions, bread, sallat etc. We also had a lottery where the top prize was a grill.   View from the kitchen. Isn't it gorgeus! We are back home again after a wonderful Midsummer weekend in the best place to be during this holiday - Svärdsjö, Dalarna. We had been invited by Gunilla and Per to spend the holiday in their wonderful house built in 1875, but completely modern, overlooking the lake Svärdsjön. We even had the luck to have sunshine and no rain that day. Why I write that? Well, it's more common it rains on Midsummer's Eve than the opposite :-) But we always hang in there. No matter what, we are outside eating, playing, drinking. All you need is good clothes we say :-) Another hard thing to battle is the mosquitos or "knott" which are more common up north. Eating lunch   Me and Staffan (Gittan's husband) Anyway we all met up in time for lunch. I contributed with Västerbotten pie, shrimps and 3 different kind of cookies all which I did the night before.   Oscar and his girlfriend Jonna Well, I'm waiting to go to Arlanda airport to pick up H.E.A.T who has been gigging at Download Festival in England. I thought I would write about Oscar's graduation meanwhile. The family (can you spot me?) We went to Gavle on Friday and it was the most beautiful summerday. The sun was shining from a clearblue sky and we all gathered outside the school to cheer him when he ran out. After hugging, photographing and given gifts to hang around the neck it was time for the parade. It's a tradition in Gavle, the student march. A band goes first and then all the students with their signs. We went home to their house to prepare food and drinks. Of course you have champagne on such an occasion. Lena had made a wonderful buffet of food and we ate, drank and had a really good time outside in the garden.   Some of the parade Hasse and I went back in the evening after a long and wonderful day.  H.E.A.T Yesterday we had a H.E.A.T family summerparty at Pär och Brita's house. They had layed a long table in their garden beside the pool. The stage was rigged with instruments which was promising. The weather couldn't have been better. Earlier in the day we had heavy rains but in time for the event the sun was shining from a clearblue sky and as you know in Sweden during summer it's light almost 24/7. We had a welcome drink and then we paired up in teams of two for a quiz with questions that involved each family's interest or work. Today is the Swedish National Day and I baked a rhubarbcake and I made a salmongratin for dinner.
