Wonderful evening with H.E.A.T family

 H.E.A.T
Yesterday we had a H.E.A.T family summerparty at Pär och Brita's house. They had layed a long table in their garden beside the pool. The stage was rigged with instruments which was promising.

The weather couldn't have been better. Earlier in the day we had heavy rains but in time for the event the sun was shining from a clearblue sky and as you know in Sweden during summer it's light almost 24/7. We had a welcome drink and then we paired up in teams of two for a quiz with questions that involved each family's interest or work. Very hard actually and not at all that easy that you would have thought :-)

After that we were invited to take food which was a delicious buffet with lots of good dishes. After that it was time for the coffe and several homemade cookies and cakes :-) Brita had baked them all! Delicious.

Then the exciting result of the quiz. No, we didn't win, I was teamed up with Erik G's Dad Stellan, but we fought well :-) I forgot to tell that in order to finalize the quiz you needed to count some buttons that was placed on the bottom of the pool. Some daring, men, jumped in and counted them but we didn't. We were pretty close anyway.

Then the stage was taken by different constellations and with fathers and sons and brothers. Very funny and everyone is so gifted. I was blown away by H.E.A.T performance of Run to the hills. And I love the older rocksongs that all of them performed. As usual I have a hard time sitting still so I stood by the stage singing along and dancing. Something I have to pay for afterwards :-( I really can't do that because I get so much pain but in the moment I don't feel the aches.

By midnight we all started to get home. It was still quite light a little like when the morning breaks. This time of the year is wonderful in Sweden. If you haven't been here before you should go in June-July.

So thanks everyone in H.E.A.T family and especially Brita and Pär for a wonderful evening :-) Saturday H.E.A.T are off to England for Download festival and then to Germany to two festivals. Hopefully we will see them in Sweden soon so we all can join and meet :-) Good luck guys in conqering the world!

Tomorrow we are off to Gavle where Oscar (one of our grandchildren) will graduate.
And today I have summerlunch with my work :-)
Take care everyone and have a great weekend!

Oh my God

The Christmas smorgasbord I just realized I haven't written anything since November 23! But I can tell you I haven't been lazy but there has been so much going on that I haven't had the strength to write. I had meetings that week and I was supposed to be at a conference hotel for lunch that Friday but I was to tired I had to cancel it. So instead I baked safron buns (!) and made chocolate troufles with ginger.  The ferry On December 1 it was Staffan's birthday (Hasse's oldest son) and I worked and worked at my job. Thursday I and Hasse were supposed to go to the theatre and see Come again Charlie, which was one of my birthday presents - thank you Pär and Brita. But Hasse wasn't feeling well so instead I asked Linnea, my bonus grand daughter if she wanted to go and she was very happy that I asked. We had a really good time and the play, which was a comedy, was funny but also with a message which made you laugh and then stop. It was about the si...

Anyone??

I wonder if anyone can see and read my blogg? I haven't had any comments in so long that's why I ask. Erik didn't win a Grammy last night but he had a blast and he and his fiancé looked just great! Another Swede, Ludwig Göransson, won 3 prices though. Congrats to him.

Sad day

Tonight Olle, my adoptive father that has been like my father almost all my life, died just before 9PM. It was very quick. I talked to the nurse at 6PM and everything was calm then. Just a bit over 2 hours later she called and said he's gotten worse. I asked how and she said his skin changed colour and that he could have 10 minutes or 10 hours left. I was just trying to get to my sister on the phone and ask her if we should go down when the phone rang again just 15 minutes afterwards and it was the nurse telling me that it was over. He went very peacefully and in his sleep. At the end he was given a lot of morphine so he wouldn't be in pain, which he wasn't. I called my sister but we both felt that we already had said our goodbyes and therefore didn't go down to say a last goodbye. He is probably up there somewhere looking down and sensing our feelings. We haven't been able to reach our mother yet and we probably won't tonight so I will tell her when I go there ...
