This year's first julbord

Julbord is like a Swedish smorgasbord just more Christmas. Like we have our big thing which is Christmas Ham and that is a must! Also spare ribs, janssons frestelse (Jansson's temptation which doesn't tempt me) and so much more. Of course meatballs, herring, desserts and candy.
Just a small part of the julbord

I was invited to the Viking line (cruise line) to attend their premier julbord together with other VIP's. This was for me + one. So my friend I also on my board with the Rheumatic ass. went. It was grand, it was tasty and I couldn't do it justice at all. I'm sorry but smorgasbord or julbord is not for me. I can't eat that much so I just take the things I like on one plate. Then I take a little plate for desserts. But most people can go 3,4,5,6,7 or more times and take more. I don't know how they can eat that much.
Ingvor is the one closest to the window.

Anyway it was a nice lunch and we also got a Christmas gift which is a universal charger for mobile phones and is supposed to fit all phones. It did fit mine.

Before I went I was interviewed on the phone for a magazine about my commitment with the Rheumatic association. They wanted to interview me as an enthusiast and role model for others.
Now I just have to have a good photo of myself which they want for the interview.
Not this one though :-)
This is Santa's throne

Tomorrow we have a member meeting where we will talk about SLE (Lupus) and Sjogren's. As usual we will serve soup but this time Ingvor made it. And directly after that we have a board meeting.

On Saturday our friends Johnny and Anne will come over for lunch. That will be nice since we haven't seen them for a while due to their illness.

And tonight we have a wonderful full moon
Take care of each other and to all my American family I wish you a very HAPPY THANKSGIVING! And although we don't celebrate that at all here in Sweden I'm thankful for having you in my life.

WOW!!! I just have to say Wow!

Why do you ask? I just got a mail telling me that I have won a romantic trip to Paris for 2! I enrolled in this competition, last year, which was to write a slogan and I had forgot all about it when the mail came. I didn't remember it even then so I had to go to the site and see what it was :-) I'm so happy! and so is Hasse :-) We had a great Easter which started with a wonderful ballet, Giselle, at the Royal Opera with my friend Carina. We are going again tomorrow to see Puccinis Turandot :-) The next day Easter Day we went to Gavle and this time we actually stayed at a hotel, Elite Grand hotel. A newly opened hotel, March 1, where we had the executive suite. What a suite! I have to show you some photos. One of the best suites I've ever stayed in!   The suite taken from the "living-room area"  From the "cosy" area with wood burning stove   Our "little" bathroom with green marble Part of the bedroom What do yo...

Christmas gift

For Christmas I got a giftcard to Amazon.com from my sister Jo. It was a real treat to go to the site, explore and find something to buy. There are so many things there and it's hard to choose. For me, leaving in Sweden, it's a bit easier. I just cross the square that says "ships to Sweden" and I get all the things I can order. My choice was Bliss socks and a big bottle of Dermalogica body cream. They came today and I'm so happy. So once again a big thank you big sis for the generous gift.

BIRTHDAY, H.E.A.T, E.R and more...

Some of the wonderful flowers I got And some more Last week didn't start out well. On Monday I woke up and could hardly walk. I had such pain every step I tried to take. But off to work anyway. Tuesday even worse so I went to the doctor's office and asked to borrow crutches. Wednesday at work jumping on crutches, that must have been a sight ;-) But when I came home from work Wednesday I had fever so I went to bed quite early but didn't sleep well because of the constant pain. Thursday morning I woke up and had fever so I called the hospital and they said I had to go to the E.R. I hate that and if I can I always try to avoid it. But I was in so much pain I had to. I came and after a while they took bloodtests, urine and then I sat in a kind of smallish room. After being there for about 3 hours a doctor came and said I probably should see and orthopedic and not a medicine doctor. After one more hour another doctor came and said my bloodtest showed I had an i...
