Svärdsjö and singalong

A glass of wine before we left

What a fantastic weekend we have had. We went to Svärdsjö in Dalarna to visit Gunilla and Per.

Me and Hasse had chairs with us. This was one hour before the show. When it started all the places behind us were occupied
They had bought tickets and treated us with them - THANK YOU! - to singalong with Lasse Berghagen. You out of Sweden might not be familiar with Lasse Berghagen? He was the singalong leader for many years at Skansen. And we all think, in our family, that he has been the best.

Some of the people.
Anyway he comes from Svärdsjö and wanted to do a singalong there and they anticipated around 1500 people. And along came 4-4500!! Can you imagine the choir we were? We had so much fun. He had also invited artists like a rockabilly group, Lisa Miskovsky and several more.
And some more but soon it was even more.
The weather, who hasn't been great this summer, was perfect. Sunshine, some clouds and warm.
The singalong was over 2 hours long but didn't feel that at all.
We happily sang along and had fun talking to everyone around us (at least I did). I can tell you that this is the closest to house concerts we have. And this time we were, as I said, in luck with the weather. It's not the same if it's raining I can tell you.

After the show we went back home to Gunilla and Per's place which is just gorgeous with a view to die for. They had bought fillet of beef from a farmer nearby and oh my God that was good. To that they had grilled asparagus and tomatoes and was served with potatoe slices and two sauces. So good!
Late night
After dessert which was a lime pie with strawberries and whipped cream, yummie we went inside around 11PM. Not because it was cold or dark but because the mosqitos came out.

After a good nights sleep we had breakfast outside overlooking the lake. What a good way to start the day!

We started back home and came home around lunchtime which was perfect.

A big THANK YOU to Gunilla and Per for their hospitality and for treating us. Love you!

On Thursday I'm off to Malmo and I hope the weather will be as good.

Take care and have a great time whether on vacation or working.

WOW!!! I just have to say Wow!

Why do you ask? I just got a mail telling me that I have won a romantic trip to Paris for 2! I enrolled in this competition, last year, which was to write a slogan and I had forgot all about it when the mail came. I didn't remember it even then so I had to go to the site and see what it was :-) I'm so happy! and so is Hasse :-) We had a great Easter which started with a wonderful ballet, Giselle, at the Royal Opera with my friend Carina. We are going again tomorrow to see Puccinis Turandot :-) The next day Easter Day we went to Gavle and this time we actually stayed at a hotel, Elite Grand hotel. A newly opened hotel, March 1, where we had the executive suite. What a suite! I have to show you some photos. One of the best suites I've ever stayed in!   The suite taken from the "living-room area"  From the "cosy" area with wood burning stove   Our "little" bathroom with green marble Part of the bedroom What do yo...

Christmas gift

For Christmas I got a giftcard to Amazon.com from my sister Jo. It was a real treat to go to the site, explore and find something to buy. There are so many things there and it's hard to choose. For me, leaving in Sweden, it's a bit easier. I just cross the square that says "ships to Sweden" and I get all the things I can order. My choice was Bliss socks and a big bottle of Dermalogica body cream. They came today and I'm so happy. So once again a big thank you big sis for the generous gift.

BIRTHDAY, H.E.A.T, E.R and more...

Some of the wonderful flowers I got And some more Last week didn't start out well. On Monday I woke up and could hardly walk. I had such pain every step I tried to take. But off to work anyway. Tuesday even worse so I went to the doctor's office and asked to borrow crutches. Wednesday at work jumping on crutches, that must have been a sight ;-) But when I came home from work Wednesday I had fever so I went to bed quite early but didn't sleep well because of the constant pain. Thursday morning I woke up and had fever so I called the hospital and they said I had to go to the E.R. I hate that and if I can I always try to avoid it. But I was in so much pain I had to. I came and after a while they took bloodtests, urine and then I sat in a kind of smallish room. After being there for about 3 hours a doctor came and said I probably should see and orthopedic and not a medicine doctor. After one more hour another doctor came and said my bloodtest showed I had an i...
