Walpurgis and May 1

Can you believe it's already May? So much happens so fast. The days are getting longer and so much lighter. We have even had a touch of spring and this Walpurgis night was beautiful. Just as often it snows but this year we had sunshine and nice warm temperatures. The Japanese cherry trees in Kungsträdgården was in full bloom and it's just gorgeous. Here's a photo of the one outside my job.

Me and Hasse went to our favorite hotel where we stayed until May 1. We had a wonderful room with views over Stockholm and Djurgården. We had calculated that we could sit in our window, watch the big Walpurgis fire and listen to the choirs singing in spring. And we sure did.

From the ferry we took to the restaurant. This is lake Mälaren

It was really a wonderful weekend or rather I was off work almost a week since Walpurgis night this year was on a Monday and then May 1 Tuesday so I just worked Wednesday and Thursday :-)

H.E.A.T went on tour the whole Walpurgis weekend and they had great success!! Next week they will be on tour again. Things are going great!
So if you haven't bought their album "Address the Nation" I suggest you do so :-)

On Sunday we are going to our "granddaughter's" confirmation (communion in church). I can't believe she's already 16. It's my very good friend Inger's daughter who together with her brother and older sister "adopted" us as grandparents since they didn't have any. Isn't that cute. We said, of course, yes to this honorary title and ever since we go under the name grandma and grandpa :-) And on top of this I'm going to be a "oldgrandma" because the oldest daughter is expecting :-)
Happy news indeed.

Well, I hope you all take care, enjoy these precious spring days and I'll write back soon again.

WOW!!! I just have to say Wow!

Why do you ask? I just got a mail telling me that I have won a romantic trip to Paris for 2! I enrolled in this competition, last year, which was to write a slogan and I had forgot all about it when the mail came. I didn't remember it even then so I had to go to the site and see what it was :-) I'm so happy! and so is Hasse :-) We had a great Easter which started with a wonderful ballet, Giselle, at the Royal Opera with my friend Carina. We are going again tomorrow to see Puccinis Turandot :-) The next day Easter Day we went to Gavle and this time we actually stayed at a hotel, Elite Grand hotel. A newly opened hotel, March 1, where we had the executive suite. What a suite! I have to show you some photos. One of the best suites I've ever stayed in!   The suite taken from the "living-room area"  From the "cosy" area with wood burning stove   Our "little" bathroom with green marble Part of the bedroom What do yo...

Christmas gift

For Christmas I got a giftcard to Amazon.com from my sister Jo. It was a real treat to go to the site, explore and find something to buy. There are so many things there and it's hard to choose. For me, leaving in Sweden, it's a bit easier. I just cross the square that says "ships to Sweden" and I get all the things I can order. My choice was Bliss socks and a big bottle of Dermalogica body cream. They came today and I'm so happy. So once again a big thank you big sis for the generous gift.

BIRTHDAY, H.E.A.T, E.R and more...

Some of the wonderful flowers I got And some more Last week didn't start out well. On Monday I woke up and could hardly walk. I had such pain every step I tried to take. But off to work anyway. Tuesday even worse so I went to the doctor's office and asked to borrow crutches. Wednesday at work jumping on crutches, that must have been a sight ;-) But when I came home from work Wednesday I had fever so I went to bed quite early but didn't sleep well because of the constant pain. Thursday morning I woke up and had fever so I called the hospital and they said I had to go to the E.R. I hate that and if I can I always try to avoid it. But I was in so much pain I had to. I came and after a while they took bloodtests, urine and then I sat in a kind of smallish room. After being there for about 3 hours a doctor came and said I probably should see and orthopedic and not a medicine doctor. After one more hour another doctor came and said my bloodtest showed I had an i...
