One year older but not feeling it :-)

So has yet another birthday gone by and I don't feel any different. I'm now 57 and I'm glad I am.
I don't understand people who doesn't want to celebrate that they have achieved one more year of this short time we have on earth. I love celebrate every day and I say Carpe Diem.
This is me totally without any make-up at all. Not too bad :-)

I really had a great day with lots of people gratulating me especially on Facebook where over 100 of my friends sent messages. Thank you all. I love you <3.
The day before I made two different cakes which I brought with me to work. They seemed to like them both :-) Because it was my birthday and I didn't want to bake anymore I brought the rests back home for dessert.

Jonas, Mandy and Danniel came for dinner and we had a great time. Emil couldn't come because he was abroad on holiday.
When I got home from work I started cooking and made a new dish with tenderloin of pork which I served with rice and salat. It was really good!
Dinner
We had a great time with lots of chat and laughing :-) I got flowers and a wonderful spa-kit which had a gorgeous scent. From Hasse I got a weekend at our favorite hotel - Marina Tower in Saltsjöqvarn, Stockholm. I also got a wonderful boquet of flowers from Gunilla and Staffan with families. From Kitte and Janne I got a beautiful Kalla (lilac).
By the way did I tell you I won the latest round in the food competition at work? It was my salmon gratin with spincach and whitewine sauce. I'm so happy :-)

Today I had my friend Inger, our "grandchildren" Tanya, Tommy, Tracy and her boyfriend Claes over for coffee. For the first time ever I had made a real marcipan cake all by myself. I had no idea how it would taste but it was good. From them I received a lot of lotteries but I didn't won anything big, just small wins but I'm happy for that :-)
The most important thing is that they came to see me and congratulate. They even sang and it was really really nice.

Tomorrow I'm going to the theater and see the musical Spamalot which premiered here in Stockholm yesterday. I saw it in Malmö but then the leading diva role wasn't played by Nina Söderquist but she plays it now. I'm so looking forward seeing it here. It received great reviews from everyone.
Afterwards we are meeting Nina in her dressingroom for a short while and then we have reservations at a nearby restaurant.
I hope you all are having a wonderful weekend as well. Take care out there!

Oh my God

The Christmas smorgasbord I just realized I haven't written anything since November 23! But I can tell you I haven't been lazy but there has been so much going on that I haven't had the strength to write. I had meetings that week and I was supposed to be at a conference hotel for lunch that Friday but I was to tired I had to cancel it. So instead I baked safron buns (!) and made chocolate troufles with ginger.  The ferry On December 1 it was Staffan's birthday (Hasse's oldest son) and I worked and worked at my job. Thursday I and Hasse were supposed to go to the theatre and see Come again Charlie, which was one of my birthday presents - thank you Pär and Brita. But Hasse wasn't feeling well so instead I asked Linnea, my bonus grand daughter if she wanted to go and she was very happy that I asked. We had a really good time and the play, which was a comedy, was funny but also with a message which made you laugh and then stop. It was about the si...

Anyone??

I wonder if anyone can see and read my blogg? I haven't had any comments in so long that's why I ask. Erik didn't win a Grammy last night but he had a blast and he and his fiancé looked just great! Another Swede, Ludwig Göransson, won 3 prices though. Congrats to him.

Sad day

Tonight Olle, my adoptive father that has been like my father almost all my life, died just before 9PM. It was very quick. I talked to the nurse at 6PM and everything was calm then. Just a bit over 2 hours later she called and said he's gotten worse. I asked how and she said his skin changed colour and that he could have 10 minutes or 10 hours left. I was just trying to get to my sister on the phone and ask her if we should go down when the phone rang again just 15 minutes afterwards and it was the nurse telling me that it was over. He went very peacefully and in his sleep. At the end he was given a lot of morphine so he wouldn't be in pain, which he wasn't. I called my sister but we both felt that we already had said our goodbyes and therefore didn't go down to say a last goodbye. He is probably up there somewhere looking down and sensing our feelings. We haven't been able to reach our mother yet and we probably won't tonight so I will tell her when I go there ...
