Visiting Mom and IKEA

Today I started out real early at 9AM to go down to Alby and visit my Mom. Since there are roadworks on almost every road out south from Stockholm I figured that if I went early on a Saturday it would be smother and it actually was :-)
So I arrived to my Mom's elderly home by 9.30 and the staff told me she was on the run?! To Hawaii :-) OK she was at the hairdresser getting a long overdue haircut. So I went down and when she saw me her face lit up and she said with a big smile: Oh, it's you. That is much coming from her. I don't know if I had said it before but she has Alzheimers and had a stroke when I was in LA so it's not all the times she recognize me nor that she can talk. So after she had her haircut I went for a walk with her, she's in a wheelchair, almost down to the lake. It was a very nice day, warm and sunny although we had some rain in the early hours of the morning.
Here's a photo of her. Isn't she beautiful? She even smiles on the photo :-)
Then we went back to her room and had coffee which her contactperson so kindly came with. Mom drank a whole glass of juice, a cup of coffee and even had a cake :-) After a couple of hours it was time for me to go and she was so sad and almost cried but I said I will come back. She kissed me several times and then she waved as I went.
Then off to Danniel to have lunch with him. Today we ate in his apartment and I had bought burgers for him and chicken nuggets for me. Good lunch and it's always nice chatting with him :-)
Then back home again around 2.30 PM when Hasse suddenly said: Can't we go to IKEA and I of course said yes. So off we went. We thought there wouldn't be that many there since the weather was so nice but we were wrong!! There were so many there. I don't know why they can't go swimming instead ;-)
We didn't buy a lot of things but some small things we needed (and some extras as always when on IKEA)

So now we are back home again. I'm all exhausted, just had dinner - Taco pie - and I'm ready to sit down and watch some TV.

I hope you all had a great Saturday. Talk to you soon!

WOW!!! I just have to say Wow!

Why do you ask? I just got a mail telling me that I have won a romantic trip to Paris for 2! I enrolled in this competition, last year, which was to write a slogan and I had forgot all about it when the mail came. I didn't remember it even then so I had to go to the site and see what it was :-) I'm so happy! and so is Hasse :-) We had a great Easter which started with a wonderful ballet, Giselle, at the Royal Opera with my friend Carina. We are going again tomorrow to see Puccinis Turandot :-) The next day Easter Day we went to Gavle and this time we actually stayed at a hotel, Elite Grand hotel. A newly opened hotel, March 1, where we had the executive suite. What a suite! I have to show you some photos. One of the best suites I've ever stayed in!   The suite taken from the "living-room area"  From the "cosy" area with wood burning stove   Our "little" bathroom with green marble Part of the bedroom What do yo...

BIRTHDAY, H.E.A.T, E.R and more...

Some of the wonderful flowers I got And some more Last week didn't start out well. On Monday I woke up and could hardly walk. I had such pain every step I tried to take. But off to work anyway. Tuesday even worse so I went to the doctor's office and asked to borrow crutches. Wednesday at work jumping on crutches, that must have been a sight ;-) But when I came home from work Wednesday I had fever so I went to bed quite early but didn't sleep well because of the constant pain. Thursday morning I woke up and had fever so I called the hospital and they said I had to go to the E.R. I hate that and if I can I always try to avoid it. But I was in so much pain I had to. I came and after a while they took bloodtests, urine and then I sat in a kind of smallish room. After being there for about 3 hours a doctor came and said I probably should see and orthopedic and not a medicine doctor. After one more hour another doctor came and said my bloodtest showed I had an i...
