Election day in Sweden

This morning Hasse and I went down to the polling place to do our civic duty and vote for those who's going to run Sweden the next 4 years. So it's done! I think it's in every persons interest that live in a society to perform their right to vote.
After that we went home and had coffe and some cake, leftovers from yesterday, and chatting about it all.

We had a lovely time yesterday when family and friends came over for coffee and cake. I got some lovely presents. The bling on the photo I got from my dear friend Inger and her family and Claes.

From Helen and her family I got a box. Yes a box with gift certificates for beauty treatments. That is so nice and I love it. I just have to find the time to do it :-)
From Emil I had received a cosy little bear with a card and the most wonderful text where he expressed his love.
Hasse gave me half the ticket to LA where I'm going next year (can't wait). That's really lovely. Then I got flowers from several friends and family too.

Today I also found out that a friends GrandFather had died. He was in a carcrash two weeks ago and at first it seemed like he would do OK but after a week or so they did a EEG and no brainactivity so they shut down all the equipment and last night they were called to the hospital where they sat by his bed until he passed.
There haven't been a day she hasn't been there and I have read her blog where she so lovingly describes her Grandpa and what he has meant to her. I couldn't help shed a tear, although I didn't know him, but I can feel her pain. All my thought goes to her in her deep grief.

  1. Sv; Tack Mia, du säger alltid så fina och bra saker. Självklart känns det hjärtskärande just nu, men jag kommer alltid ha otroligt fina minnen med mig. Sen är jag övertygad om att han kommer komma och titta till mig lite då och då. ;) Stor kram tillbaka!

WOW!!! I just have to say Wow!

Why do you ask? I just got a mail telling me that I have won a romantic trip to Paris for 2! I enrolled in this competition, last year, which was to write a slogan and I had forgot all about it when the mail came. I didn't remember it even then so I had to go to the site and see what it was :-) I'm so happy! and so is Hasse :-) We had a great Easter which started with a wonderful ballet, Giselle, at the Royal Opera with my friend Carina. We are going again tomorrow to see Puccinis Turandot :-) The next day Easter Day we went to Gavle and this time we actually stayed at a hotel, Elite Grand hotel. A newly opened hotel, March 1, where we had the executive suite. What a suite! I have to show you some photos. One of the best suites I've ever stayed in!   The suite taken from the "living-room area"  From the "cosy" area with wood burning stove   Our "little" bathroom with green marble Part of the bedroom What do yo...

Christmas gift

For Christmas I got a giftcard to Amazon.com from my sister Jo. It was a real treat to go to the site, explore and find something to buy. There are so many things there and it's hard to choose. For me, leaving in Sweden, it's a bit easier. I just cross the square that says "ships to Sweden" and I get all the things I can order. My choice was Bliss socks and a big bottle of Dermalogica body cream. They came today and I'm so happy. So once again a big thank you big sis for the generous gift.

BIRTHDAY, H.E.A.T, E.R and more...

Some of the wonderful flowers I got And some more Last week didn't start out well. On Monday I woke up and could hardly walk. I had such pain every step I tried to take. But off to work anyway. Tuesday even worse so I went to the doctor's office and asked to borrow crutches. Wednesday at work jumping on crutches, that must have been a sight ;-) But when I came home from work Wednesday I had fever so I went to bed quite early but didn't sleep well because of the constant pain. Thursday morning I woke up and had fever so I called the hospital and they said I had to go to the E.R. I hate that and if I can I always try to avoid it. But I was in so much pain I had to. I came and after a while they took bloodtests, urine and then I sat in a kind of smallish room. After being there for about 3 hours a doctor came and said I probably should see and orthopedic and not a medicine doctor. After one more hour another doctor came and said my bloodtest showed I had an i...
