Nottingham it is :-)

Yes, I will actually be going to Nottingham with my sister and I'm very excited about it. I have booked a flight from Arlanda to Heathrow and then train to Nottingham from London St Pancras Intl. I have to book a taxishuttle from Heathrow to St Pancras though but that I will do when it gets closer.
The hotel where everyone is staying was of course full already so I booked at Hilton. Then I went to Tripadvisor and when I saw the photos and read the stories from that hotel I cancelled my reservation. Dirty, mould on windows and bathroom, bad views and not at all Hiltonstandard. So I booked at Crowne Plaza instead and hopefully it will be allright. It's closer to the venue and closer to the hotel where the others stay.

I have been working now for two weeks already and it's fun. I really like it. This Monday it was my turn to cook for the others. I think I have told you about our "competition". Every Monday one of us cook for the others and then we got to grade the different dishes after each 10-week period. You don't win any price just the honour.
I made a "small crayfishparty" consisting of pie with Västerbottencheese (Jo and Marv it was the cheese I brought last time I was over) and fresh potatoes. On top I had crayfish tails and shrimps garnished with fresh dill. To go with this a big sallad with avocados, fetacheese, red onion, sallad, tomatoes, cucumber and squeezed lemon. They really liked it and so did I :-) Sorry I don't have a photo but I have at work.

Also this week was Helen's birthday on Sunday. We went to Mom and celebrated her so that Mom also could join in. We bought cake and had coffee and chatted away. Very nice.

Yesterday I was in Norrtälje and visited my good friend Anne for our usual lunch and treatment. It's always so nice to meet her and we always have a lot to talk about.

Today I went to the hairdresser and had my hair cut because tomorrow I'm going to attend the Christening of Mandy's sister Johannas babyboy who will have the name Love. I'm driving Jonas as well. Speaking of Jonas and H.E.A.T - no news about new singer yet. Hopefully they will have a new singer shortly. I will let you know as soon as I get the news.

Oh my God

The Christmas smorgasbord I just realized I haven't written anything since November 23! But I can tell you I haven't been lazy but there has been so much going on that I haven't had the strength to write. I had meetings that week and I was supposed to be at a conference hotel for lunch that Friday but I was to tired I had to cancel it. So instead I baked safron buns (!) and made chocolate troufles with ginger.  The ferry On December 1 it was Staffan's birthday (Hasse's oldest son) and I worked and worked at my job. Thursday I and Hasse were supposed to go to the theatre and see Come again Charlie, which was one of my birthday presents - thank you Pär and Brita. But Hasse wasn't feeling well so instead I asked Linnea, my bonus grand daughter if she wanted to go and she was very happy that I asked. Sad day

Tonight Olle, my adoptive father that has been like my father almost all my life, died just before 9PM. It was very quick. I talked to the nurse at 6PM and everything was calm then. Just a bit over 2 hours later she called and said he's gotten worse. I asked how and she said his skin changed colour and that he could have 10 minutes or 10 hours left. I was just trying to get to my sister on the phone and ask her if we should go down when the phone rang again just 15 minutes afterwards and it was the nurse telling me that it was over. He went very peacefully and in his sleep. At the end he was given a lot of morphine so he wouldn't be in pain, which he wasn't. I called my sister but we both felt that we already had said our goodbyes and therefore didn't go down to say a last goodbye. He is probably up there somewhere looking down and sensing our feelings. We haven't been able to reach our mother yet and we probably won't tonight so I will tell her when I go there ...

Anyone??

I wonder if anyone can see and read my blogg? I haven't had any comments in so long that's why I ask. Erik didn't win a Grammy last night but he had a blast and he and his fiancé looked just great! Another Swede, Ludwig Göransson, won 3 prices though. Congrats to him.
