Dalhalla, Tällberg, Sörbärke

We had just a wonderful trip to Dalarna. The weather was the best and that was something we couldn't be sure of after the heavily raining that had been going on the last week in Dalarna.

We arrived to Tällbergsgården at 1PM and we got this wonderful suite overlooking Lake Siljan and with a huge terrace which was our own. We also had a jaccuzzi in the room as well as rainshower. It was decorated absolutely fabolous and to our taste. The only thing was that it was so hot when we came back from Dalhalla at 1AM that we had to have the terracedoor opened for a while to cool it down.

Rhapsody in Rock was great. I thought this year that Robert Wells had a slightly worse group of artists because there weren't these huge wellknown ones but boy was I wrong.
The comic was so funny and really to the point. The orchestra was outstanding and the sound perfect. You could really hear the music and the different instruments as well as the singer. I have, after been to several festivals and concerts this summer, found that the sound is very hard to get right when you're out in the free but in Dalhalla it was perfect.
La Geylia Frazier is a wonderful artist and what voice she has. I don't understand why she isn't a worldartist that is how good she is. Nina Söderqvist was another positive artist. Her numberg from Spamalot was funny and with lots of theatre and good singing. I even thought Jacob Samuel from the Poodles sang well.
And then of course we had Glenn Hughes - he was in a class of his own and did some great numbers. All in all one of RiR best shows.

Next day we slept in for a while and then had breakfast (I even took a jaccuzzibath) before heading for Ludvika and then Sörbärke.

In Ludvika Hasse went down memory lane of course and we found a wonderful restaurant by the Lake Väsman called the Restaurant Piren. After a good lunch we continued to our friends country house by the lake in Sörbärke. It's actually the parents of one of the guitarists Eric Rivers.
They really had a dreamhouse there. A beautiful view over the lake, a big red house in two stores and so big that we had the downfloor complete with kitchen, bathroom and everything.
Upstairs it was also a complete flat.
A wonderful afternoon, a little nap followed by a visit to the very old shoeshop in the village. Then to the Folkpark - Pärlan - which brought back lots of memories for Hasse.
Pär and Brita had also been there when they were younger since they come from Fagersta which isn't that far away.
Later we had BBQ which the men handled with excellence. After a couple of glasses of wine and beer and after dinner we played crocket. Me and Pär in team and Hasse and Brita in the other. Pär and me won like we did on the firsta parentdinner (but then it was musicquiz). The next round we played with our spouses and Hasse and I lost but only with the last gates left.
Then their friends, Max and Lena, came over and we sat down in the garden with lots of cressets a fire and candles. Despite the mosqitos we had a great evening chatting away while sipping on some wine. At 1.15AM we called it a day and went to bed.
Next day we had breakfast together before we entered the trip home.

A wonderful minivacation was over. A big thanks to Pär and Brita who welcomed us with such generosity.

Why do you ask? I just got a mail telling me that I have won a romantic trip to Paris for 2! I enrolled in this competition, last year, which was to write a slogan and I had forgot all about it when the mail came. I didn't remember it even then so I had to go to the site and see what it was :-) I'm so happy! and so is Hasse :-) We had a great Easter which started with a wonderful ballet, Giselle, at the Royal Opera with my friend Carina. We are going again tomorrow to see Puccinis Turandot :-) The next day Easter Day we went to Gavle and this time we actually stayed at a hotel, Elite Grand hotel. A newly opened hotel, March 1, where we had the executive suite. What a suite! I have to show you some photos. One of the best suites I've ever stayed in!   The suite taken from the "living-room area"  From the "cosy" area with wood burning stove   Our "little" bathroom with green marble Part of the bedroom What do yo...

Christmas gift

For Christmas I got a giftcard to Amazon.com from my sister Jo. It was a real treat to go to the site, explore and find something to buy. There are so many things there and it's hard to choose. For me, leaving in Sweden, it's a bit easier. I just cross the square that says "ships to Sweden" and I get all the things I can order. My choice was Bliss socks and a big bottle of Dermalogica body cream. They came today and I'm so happy. So once again a big thank you big sis for the generous gift.

BIRTHDAY, H.E.A.T, E.R and more...

Some of the wonderful flowers I got And some more Last week didn't start out well. On Monday I woke up and could hardly walk. I had such pain every step I tried to take. But off to work anyway. Tuesday even worse so I went to the doctor's office and asked to borrow crutches. Wednesday at work jumping on crutches, that must have been a sight ;-) But when I came home from work Wednesday I had fever so I went to bed quite early but didn't sleep well because of the constant pain. Thursday morning I woke up and had fever so I called the hospital and they said I had to go to the E.R. I hate that and if I can I always try to avoid it. But I was in so much pain I had to. I came and after a while they took bloodtests, urine and then I sat in a kind of smallish room. After being there for about 3 hours a doctor came and said I probably should see and orthopedic and not a medicine doctor. After one more hour another doctor came and said my bloodtest showed I had an i...
