It's already Wednesday and almost a week since Olle died. Time has gone so fast and yet so slow. Does that make sense?
There are a lot of things, practical ones, that needs to be done. Like trying to reach everyone that needs to know. That has taken me three days. You can't just call and say hi, my Dad died last week. Some of them are relatives I haven't talked to in a long time and relatives that we often just meet at funerals (or marriages but they are more rare). So each and every call are at first sad but then you get an update on what has happened since last time, so the calls tend to me hourlong ones.
I also went to the morticioners on Monday and arranged everything about the funeral. On Sunday Helen was here and I had prepared what to have at the funeral. Nowadays you can go online and choose everything from coffin to flowers to music and add. So we did just that. We also called Mom so she could choose, over the phone, flowers and message she wants to have at the funeral. Even though we had done all that I sat over 3 1/2 hours at the morticians before we were done.
The funeral will be on May 28 at Skogskyrkogården Hoppets kapell (the chapel of Hope).
I really haven't had any time to mourn but I think it will hit me at the funeral. My calender is full to that date and that's a good thing I think. Tomorrow I'm going to Norrtälje to see my friend Anne.
On Saturday I'm going to the Royal Opera to see the premiere of Queen of Spades by Tjajkovskij. Before that we are having dinner at Operakällaren.
Next week I'm going to Gävle on Tuesday afternoon and on Wednesday I'm going to get treatments there.
Next Thursday I'm going to meet the priest who will be officiant at the funeral.
Next Friday new hairdo and on Saturday next week I'm going on a trip on Göta kanal.

I am surprised there's such a long wait until the funeral.
SvaraRaderaYou msut be exhausted with all the preparations, but at least you find time to do some things for yourself.
