Funeral

Today we had the funeral for Olle and it was wonderful. How can I say that? First of all we had a wonderful priest, Eva, who made the whole ceremony easier for all of us remembering us that our lives is a travel, and Olle loved to travel, and also that he now is free from his pain and in peace with a higher power.

Also the songs we had choosen were perfect but oh so sad. I don't know but sometimes the texts in the songs or psalms means so much more than the words. The goodbye at the coffin was, of course, tearful but also very sad. My Mom was in her wheelchair and wanted to stand up which we helped her do but then she never wanted to sit down and go away. We are not sure how much she knew of what was happening. As you know she has Alzheimers and today was very bad.

This was mostly due to the "färdtjänst" that despite we had ordered well in time came 45 minutes late and she almost missed the funeral of her husband since 52 years. Shame on the "färdtjänst" and I will certainly let them know what happened.

Afterwards we had a reception for the ones that had registered that they would attend. We were 35 that sat down and ate a sandwichcake and princesscake with beer (to the first one) and coffee to the second. After a lot of talk and also a blessing by Eva, the priest, we parted.

One of Olle's last wishes were that we the closest family should go to Slagsta motel, which have been their favourite restaurant for years, and eat and drink a last meal with him. So we did. We ate excellent food and my Mom and I even took a glass of wine.

I think Dad looked down at us and smiled and said: You should have taken dessert too.
But we couldn't, we were so full.

Thank you for dinner and thank you for your life.

I am glad the funeral service was all you wanted and a good tribute to your father.

  2. Mom and Olle had a lot of boxers and that was his favourite dog and this little dog he had always by his side so of course he should have it on his coffin too.

WOW!!! I just have to say Wow!

Why do you ask? I just got a mail telling me that I have won a romantic trip to Paris for 2! I enrolled in this competition, last year, which was to write a slogan and I had forgot all about it when the mail came. I didn't remember it even then so I had to go to the site and see what it was :-) I'm so happy! and so is Hasse :-) We had a great Easter which started with a wonderful ballet, Giselle, at the Royal Opera with my friend Carina. We are going again tomorrow to see Puccinis Turandot :-) The next day Easter Day we went to Gavle and this time we actually stayed at a hotel, Elite Grand hotel. A newly opened hotel, March 1, where we had the executive suite. What a suite! I have to show you some photos. One of the best suites I've ever stayed in!   The suite taken from the "living-room area"  From the "cosy" area with wood burning stove   Our "little" bathroom with green marble Part of the bedroom What do yo...

Christmas gift

For Christmas I got a giftcard to Amazon.com from my sister Jo. It was a real treat to go to the site, explore and find something to buy. There are so many things there and it's hard to choose. For me, leaving in Sweden, it's a bit easier. I just cross the square that says "ships to Sweden" and I get all the things I can order. My choice was Bliss socks and a big bottle of Dermalogica body cream. They came today and I'm so happy. So once again a big thank you big sis for the generous gift.

BIRTHDAY, H.E.A.T, E.R and more...

Some of the wonderful flowers I got And some more Last week didn't start out well. On Monday I woke up and could hardly walk. I had such pain every step I tried to take. But off to work anyway. Tuesday even worse so I went to the doctor's office and asked to borrow crutches. Wednesday at work jumping on crutches, that must have been a sight ;-) But when I came home from work Wednesday I had fever so I went to bed quite early but didn't sleep well because of the constant pain. Thursday morning I woke up and had fever so I called the hospital and they said I had to go to the E.R. I hate that and if I can I always try to avoid it. But I was in so much pain I had to. I came and after a while they took bloodtests, urine and then I sat in a kind of smallish room. After being there for about 3 hours a doctor came and said I probably should see and orthopedic and not a medicine doctor. After one more hour another doctor came and said my bloodtest showed I had an i...
