Second Christmas in Gavle

Yesterday we returned home after being in Gavle for 3 days celebrating both Christmas and birthdays.

We had a lovely time. When we came on Christmas Day we had to split our family into two different sleeping arrangement. We are quite a big lot. So me, J and M slept at G's place and E and H slept with St and Le. But we all had our meals at St's and Le's place. First day G had made food and we had a wonderful Chili con carne followed by a chocolate cake with whipped cream. Yummie! The younger ones of the family played card and had a lot of fun because we heard lots of laughs.

After that we had glogg and gave gifts which was popular of course. Everyone seemed happy except for O who I had bought a sweater for and it was way too large. Wrong size! I don't know how that happened because I know his size. I blame it on the Christmas stress, lol.

Time flies when you're

having fun so at midnight we went to G's flat to sleep. Next day Boxing Day it was sale all over Gavle so we all went down to do some heavy shopping and yes I ended up buying three tops and a very nice perfume.

In the afternoon G gave me chiropractic treatment and massage. The first part hurt because as usual my pelvis was rotated but she managed to get it much better. The massage afterwards was dreamlike. She's so good at it.

Then back to St and Le's house for dinner which was minute steak casserole with pasta. Very good! And then we celebrated everyone that had had birthday or will have in a near future. That was 3, St had birthday December 1, Le December 30 and H their son on January 4.
So singing and cheering for them.

Then our tradition took place. We almost always plays TP when we are all together and this time was no exception. We were 3 teams - girls, the young boys and the older men. Lots of laughter and fun and who do you think won?
After a hard match the girls was winner of course :-)

Yesterday we came home at 1PM and immediately changed to go to the theater with our good friends K, Ja, A and Jo. K and Ja fetched us by car and we went to the city of Stockholm where we first had dinner at London restaurant. After that we headed to the theater Stadsteatern at Sergels torg where we had coffee before the theater. We saw Cabaret with Helena Bergstrom, Richard Wolff, Siw Malmqvist and Sven Wollter. Very good and very long.

Today a quiet day before work tomorrow.

I wonder if anyone can see and read my blogg? I haven't had any comments in so long that's why I ask. Erik didn't win a Grammy last night but he had a blast and he and his fiancé looked just great! Another Swede, Ludwig Göransson, won 3 prices though. Congrats to him.

Weekend with H.E.A.T in London

I just got back late last night from London where I spent the weekend with rock'n roll. My main purpose was of course to see H.E.A.T play at O2 Academy Islington London on Saturday. But why not combi ne that with holiday I thought. So me, my sister H and her daughter B as well as Jona's girlfriend M all went. We stayed at this superluxurious ho tel in Holborn Renaissance Chancery court. We had clubroom which gave us a ccess to a Club lounge that offered complimentary meals like continental breakfast, tea/coffe, drinks throughout the day, evening meal and desserts. In our prize was al so an English breakfast in the Pearl restaurant which ordinary cost £24.50! But it was worth it. On Friday evening we went to see "We will ro ck you" with music by Queen. What a musical!!! They talk about Mamma Mia but this one - I don't know but I it's probably better. I got goosebumps all over when the audience at the end starting singing Bohemian Rhapsody, what a feeling. I co...

Sad day

Tonight Olle, my adoptive father that has been like my father almost all my life, died just before 9PM. It was very quick. I talked to the nurse at 6PM and everything was calm then. Just a bit over 2 hours later she called and said he's gotten worse. I asked how and she said his skin changed colour and that he could have 10 minutes or 10 hours left. I was just trying to get to my sister on the phone and ask her if we should go down when the phone rang again just 15 minutes afterwards and it was the nurse telling me that it was over. He went very peacefully and in his sleep. At the end he was given a lot of morphine so he wouldn't be in pain, which he wasn't. I called my sister but we both felt that we already had said our goodbyes and therefore didn't go down to say a last goodbye. He is probably up there somewhere looking down and sensing our feelings. We haven't been able to reach our mother yet and we probably won't tonight so I will tell her when I go there ...
