4th Advent

It's getting closer to Xmas by the day and today I wrapped all the Xmasgifts. That's hard work but fun and I put on Xmas CD's to get in the mood. It worked.

My sister J wrote yesterday and wanted me to have photos of the dishes I make but we ate it too fast I didn't have time but I did manage to take a photo of some of the things I have baked. It's safronbuns, chocalatecookies, oatmealcookies and gingerbread biscuits.

This is also the shortest day of the year and the longest night but we actually had sunshine today for the first time in a very long time. I went out with Hilma for a walk which was nice. It was high fresh brisk air. Wonderfully easy to breathe.

Tomorrow work again then home to put up the Christmas tree and decorate it. Because on Tuesday our adopted "grandchildren" T and T is coming over with I and K. We are having coffe and my homemade cookies and buns and then of course Christmas gifts for the children.
In the evening the big boys will come home. I don't know about D yet but J and E is certainly coming and staying the night so they can have their first Christmas gift in the morning. That is tradition. Another very nice tradition we have is that J always they day before Christmas make our toffee for Christmas. He is so good at it! I make the last preparations with the ham and then - we have the best meal in the night when you have the newly baked ham with a Wasa bread or Leksand with lots of mustard and to go with it - julmust. That's heavenly.

But for now it's going to bed early that is the goal so I will wake up and go to work - last 4 days now.

WOW!!! I just have to say Wow!

Why do you ask? I just got a mail telling me that I have won a romantic trip to Paris for 2! I enrolled in this competition, last year, which was to write a slogan and I had forgot all about it when the mail came. I didn't remember it even then so I had to go to the site and see what it was :-) I'm so happy! and so is Hasse :-) We had a great Easter which started with a wonderful ballet, Giselle, at the Royal Opera with my friend Carina. We are going again tomorrow to see Puccinis Turandot :-) The next day Easter Day we went to Gavle and this time we actually stayed at a hotel, Elite Grand hotel. A newly opened hotel, March 1, where we had the executive suite. What a suite! I have to show you some photos. One of the best suites I've ever stayed in!   The suite taken from the "living-room area"  From the "cosy" area with wood burning stove   Our "little" bathroom with green marble Part of the bedroom What do yo...

Christmas gift

For Christmas I got a giftcard to Amazon.com from my sister Jo. It was a real treat to go to the site, explore and find something to buy. There are so many things there and it's hard to choose. For me, leaving in Sweden, it's a bit easier. I just cross the square that says "ships to Sweden" and I get all the things I can order. My choice was Bliss socks and a big bottle of Dermalogica body cream. They came today and I'm so happy. So once again a big thank you big sis for the generous gift.

BIRTHDAY, H.E.A.T, E.R and more...

Some of the wonderful flowers I got And some more Last week didn't start out well. On Monday I woke up and could hardly walk. I had such pain every step I tried to take. But off to work anyway. Tuesday even worse so I went to the doctor's office and asked to borrow crutches. Wednesday at work jumping on crutches, that must have been a sight ;-) But when I came home from work Wednesday I had fever so I went to bed quite early but didn't sleep well because of the constant pain. Thursday morning I woke up and had fever so I called the hospital and they said I had to go to the E.R. I hate that and if I can I always try to avoid it. But I was in so much pain I had to. I came and after a while they took bloodtests, urine and then I sat in a kind of smallish room. After being there for about 3 hours a doctor came and said I probably should see and orthopedic and not a medicine doctor. After one more hour another doctor came and said my bloodtest showed I had an i...
