Snow in May? Eurovision Song Contest week

This is the upside down world nowadays. We haven't any snow, yet, but they have just two hours away from us. It fell 24 cm the last days. That's crazy. We do have a low temperature and it has been around 4-5C. This is a very big contrast to California's sun and temperatures I can tell you. I hope it will get better but on the other hand, by experience, I know that other years when it has been nice and warm in spring especially May it has always been followed by a disaster summer so hopefully we will have a nice and warm summer this year :-).
This weekend we had J for dinner on Friday which was nice. He isn't home eating that often. Yesterday we went with our good friends J and K to a Chinese restaurant for dinner. It was their birthdaygift for H and this is a very nice tradition I think. Anyway an excellent meal followed by coffe and whiskey (for H not for me since I drove) and Sweden's hockeygame against Finland of bronze medal which Sweden sadly lost. I really love them both. We have been friends for 25 years and it's so nice when we meet. We have been through a lot together and you don't have to pretend in front of them. It's a warm feeling and so natural. I'm glad to have such wonderful friends as I have. Not only them but all my true friends are like that. I don't know how to express it but one way is like it feels like home, if you know what I mean.
Tomorrow is a new week and it's Eurovision Song contest week which I love. But now I think maybe it has gone too far. This year it's 43 entries!!! 43!! So they have to have 2 semifinals before the final on Saturday. This is not funny anymore. I have heard almost everyone and some of them are awful and should never have been entered. As usual the eastern countries will vote for their own so probably one of those countries will win. Maybe it's time to separate the competition and make two Eurovision song contests. One Eastern and one Western. Our tast for songs are so different I think and what is a hit in for instance Albania is probably not a hit in Sweden and vice versa. Still I will probably look at it as usual and get dissapointed as usual but that is also a tradition. I wish someone like ABBA or Carola would win again.
Tomorrow I'm taking Mom to her memory training so I have better go to bed now and get some rest.
My happy moment today? I really don't know but I suppose sitting down and having a nice dinner together with H and E is a happy moment although I cooked it myself.
This photo is from IKEA in West Covina, California. Do you see the Californian flag, the Swedish and American flag. This IKEA could as easily have been in Barkarby except for the weather but inside it was just like any other IKEA store so if you have been to one you know exactly where things are. That's funny and good.

OK now I have to go to bed. Sleep well and sweet dreams.

  1. I watched some of the Eurovision, so the Russian guy won, it was as you said..east votes for east, west for west. The Russion singer should have sang in Russian, his english was not good lol.
Where is H.E.A.T when we need them ;)

  2. I totally agree with you, anonym, his English was awful.
H.E.A.T would have won the whole thing :-)

WOW!!! I just have to say Wow!

Why do you ask? I just got a mail telling me that I have won a romantic trip to Paris for 2! I enrolled in this competition, last year, which was to write a slogan and I had forgot all about it when the mail came. I didn't remember it even then so I had to go to the site and see what it was :-) I'm so happy! and so is Hasse :-) We had a great Easter which started with a wonderful ballet, Giselle, at the Royal Opera with my friend Carina. We are going again tomorrow to see Puccinis Turandot :-) The next day Easter Day we went to Gavle and this time we actually stayed at a hotel, Elite Grand hotel. A newly opened hotel, March 1, where we had the executive suite. What a suite! I have to show you some photos. One of the best suites I've ever stayed in!   The suite taken from the "living-room area"  From the "cosy" area with wood burning stove   Our "little" bathroom with green marble Part of the bedroom What do yo...

Christmas gift

For Christmas I got a giftcard to Amazon.com from my sister Jo. It was a real treat to go to the site, explore and find something to buy. There are so many things there and it's hard to choose. For me, leaving in Sweden, it's a bit easier. I just cross the square that says "ships to Sweden" and I get all the things I can order. My choice was Bliss socks and a big bottle of Dermalogica body cream. They came today and I'm so happy. So once again a big thank you big sis for the generous gift.

BIRTHDAY, H.E.A.T, E.R and more...

Some of the wonderful flowers I got And some more Last week didn't start out well. On Monday I woke up and could hardly walk. I had such pain every step I tried to take. But off to work anyway. Tuesday even worse so I went to the doctor's office and asked to borrow crutches. Wednesday at work jumping on crutches, that must have been a sight ;-) But when I came home from work Wednesday I had fever so I went to bed quite early but didn't sleep well because of the constant pain. Thursday morning I woke up and had fever so I called the hospital and they said I had to go to the E.R. I hate that and if I can I always try to avoid it. But I was in so much pain I had to. I came and after a while they took bloodtests, urine and then I sat in a kind of smallish room. After being there for about 3 hours a doctor came and said I probably should see and orthopedic and not a medicine doctor. After one more hour another doctor came and said my bloodtest showed I had an i...
