Sad news

Finally the day was here when we were to get out verdict from the Goverment and just as I suspected we are to close down, as a Goverment college, on December 31, 2008.
They said there was to be another commisson that will look into if there are any other operators interested in taking over the college. Whatever happen all employers will be given notice (but we don't know when either) December 31 at the latest but it can be earlier. If there is another operator willing to take over they probably have their own employees at least within my line of work. So it feels very sad today. 28 years working with fire fighter education in different places both in economy (what I'm doing now) but also as purchaser, administrating courses, responsible for credit controls of customers, responsible for tenancy agreements for the students and much much more.
DO YOU HAVE A JOB OFFER THAT WOULD SUIT ME ,FEEL FREE TO CONTACT ME

It's gonna be hard since I haven't applied for a new job in 28 years. How do you do nowadays? Does any employer want a 53 year old woman with a chronic disease? If I saw that I wouldn't want to employ her but they have no idea of my capacity! In 50% I do more work than a lot do on 75% and I am loyal to the one I work for (which is rather unusual among young ones these days). This is starting to sound like a job ad :-)
Tomorrow we are going to have meetings all day. Many is angry, some are sad and I think it's hard right now to feel positive regarding work. But lifes goes on and after Easter I suppose we are at it again. We have to fulfill our obligation with a high head I think and close the college in the best manner we can.

Today I didn't really have any happy moment. No, now I'm lying. I actually had a lot from H to chear me up and I actually won - 100 SEK. That was so nice and my happy moment on this not so happy day.

Talk to you another day. Just wanted to share this with you as soon as possible since I know several of you have asked me.

WOW!!! I just have to say Wow!

Why do you ask? I just got a mail telling me that I have won a romantic trip to Paris for 2! I enrolled in this competition, last year, which was to write a slogan and I had forgot all about it when the mail came. I didn't remember it even then so I had to go to the site and see what it was :-) I'm so happy! and so is Hasse :-) We had a great Easter which started with a wonderful ballet, Giselle, at the Royal Opera with my friend Carina. We are going again tomorrow to see Puccinis Turandot :-) The next day Easter Day we went to Gavle and this time we actually stayed at a hotel, Elite Grand hotel. A newly opened hotel, March 1, where we had the executive suite. What a suite! I have to show you some photos. One of the best suites I've ever stayed in!   The suite taken from the "living-room area"  From the "cosy" area with wood burning stove   Our "little" bathroom with green marble Part of the bedroom What do yo...

Christmas gift

For Christmas I got a giftcard to Amazon.com from my sister Jo. It was a real treat to go to the site, explore and find something to buy. There are so many things there and it's hard to choose. For me, leaving in Sweden, it's a bit easier. I just cross the square that says "ships to Sweden" and I get all the things I can order. My choice was Bliss socks and a big bottle of Dermalogica body cream. They came today and I'm so happy. So once again a big thank you big sis for the generous gift.

BIRTHDAY, H.E.A.T, E.R and more...

Some of the wonderful flowers I got And some more Last week didn't start out well. On Monday I woke up and could hardly walk. I had such pain every step I tried to take. But off to work anyway. Tuesday even worse so I went to the doctor's office and asked to borrow crutches. Wednesday at work jumping on crutches, that must have been a sight ;-) But when I came home from work Wednesday I had fever so I went to bed quite early but didn't sleep well because of the constant pain. Thursday morning I woke up and had fever so I called the hospital and they said I had to go to the E.R. I hate that and if I can I always try to avoid it. But I was in so much pain I had to. I came and after a while they took bloodtests, urine and then I sat in a kind of smallish room. After being there for about 3 hours a doctor came and said I probably should see and orthopedic and not a medicine doctor. After one more hour another doctor came and said my bloodtest showed I had an i...
