It's getting closer, 099-230 04 is the number to call on Saturday

I read yesterday that almost 3,5 million Swedes saw the first part of the Swedish tryouts to Eurovision song contest. Without doubt the most seen program in TV the whole year. So a very good way to let people see you. Saturday it's H.e.a.t's turn to be seen in this program. Plans are taking place now among us going there to see them. What to wear? what weather will it be? How to get to and from the airport? I talked to Skelleftea yesterday and the man I spoke to (car rental dealer) told me that the last few days there had snowed over 1/2 meter and was still snowing as we spoke. The temperature yesterday was -14C and it's predicted to be between -8C - -14C but with the windchill that really means -15C - -21C. So cold weather, New Yorkers that talks about arctic weather at -10C have never been in Northland in Sweden during winter I think :-) We are taking underpants, warm sweaters, wollen scarf and thick gloves. No chances here. I want to share a clip from Swedish TV with you...

Lazy weekend

This weekend has been really dull with foggy weather and the snow melting away. What to do then? Well I have been so much out and about that this weekend was really welcome. Do you know what I have been doing? I have started reading the trilogy of Stieg Larsson about Millenium. The first book was awesome. I could hardly stop reading, or reading for that matter. I have listened to it as audio book and I have never been able to do that before but this reader was so good - Reine Brynolfsson. They have of course made a film of it and it premieres on February 27. I really would love to read all parts before I see the movie. Last night we saw the Swedish Pre Eurovision contest, of course, the first part that took place in Gothenburg. There were a lot of new rules this year and very confusing. It seemed like neither Petra nor the artists really know what the new rules were. Anyway straight to the final went Alcazar and Emilia. To the second chance Scotts and Caroline af Ugglas who also was v...

H.E.A.T in Gothenburg and Stockholm

OK I admit - I am a big H.E.A.T fan :-) But how can you not be? Anyway on Sunday I took the train down to Gothenburg. You get the picture - only big towns :) On Monday my course started - Accounting IV - sounds funny doesn't it? Anyway our teacher turned out to be from Dalarna and cheering for Leksand hockeyteam, which also H does. He also is a big hard rock fan and one of the first things he said was that he was to see AC/DC on Feb 20. I asked him if he knew H.E.A.T but he hadn't heard about them so I told him if he wanted he could come with me that night to see them. After long thoughts he decided not to because he had to work at night but I can tell you it was a very hard decision for him. Furthermore at lunch he came up to me and said: Do you know anyone called Thegel working in a bank. Yes, I said it's S in Gavle and he's my husband's son. It turned out they had been playing pingpong when they were young although my teacher was 10 years older than S (that'...

New York and home

Photo at the top me on Empire state building with Central Park in the background. The one below is me at Rockefeller center (Long blog) I'm back folks. I haven't had the opportunity to write while I was gone because the cost to use internet was so high. Besides I haven't had that much time to sit down and write either. OK I will take it from the beginnnin g. We started out delayed from Stockholm and arrived in Heathrow with just 45 minutes left before our next flight. We ran through terminal 5, through security, on the little train that takes you to the B-gate, up to the gate and immediately onto the plane. We came just minutes before it closed. Up and away in economy, which I have never flown in before to USA, sitting at the last seats in the plane with a wall behind. The person in front of me layed back her seat which ma de me cramped like in a little box. Thus we sat for 8 hours. Horrible! I will never ever fly economy again at least not with B A (more information later)...

New York here we come....

Tomorrow morning, very early, at 5AM we have to be at the airport so I think we have to get up at around 4 AM to manage that. Oh well early to bed it is. I hope we will get some sleep anyway because after that we have 13 hours of flying ahead of us before we reach our destination. By then it will be 1.30PM local time so we have to try to stay up as long as we can. It's very exciting and I'm so looking forward to it. Especially after everything I have had to deal with and sort out the last few days. Mamma Mia, maybe see Hedda Gabler with Peter Stormare if we can get tickets, and possibly see him afterwards. Nothing planned except for Mamma Mia. I'll write you when I get home and tell you all about it. Meanwhile take care!

Meeting cousins

I must share with you when J met his Spanish cousins for the first time. They live in Barcelona or rather just outside the city. I started talking to them on Facebook since I have never met them either nor my sister in Spain. I then told them about H.E.A.T coming to Barcelona and play. They at once said they wanted to meet him so finally we could arrange for them to be on the guestlist and also meet J before the gig. From what I have been told both from S and from J and A they got along very well. If you look at the photos I think you can see the family resemblance especially on the photo of J and S. I wish I could have been there too but having been in London last week and going to New York Thursday morning I couldn't afford it. I could gladly have been to every place they are playing. Mom like a groupie, how about that? :-) As I said I'm going to New York Thursday morning and we have to be at the airport around 5AM which is very early!! So tomorrow evening L is coming here t...

H.E.A.T in Madrid

I must share this video with you. It was placed on Youtube just hours after H.E.A.T had performed in Madrid. It's awesome and the guys write in their tour blog, which you can find on tourblog , that this gig was magical and the audience super. They played in something that looks like an opera house or something. Enormous. H.E.A.T performs Cry and Feel it again I hope you enjoy it as much as I did. They are tonight playing in Bilbao and tomorrow in Barcelona. Markus Larsson in Aftonbladet has predicted the outcome of Melodifestivalen and he believes, without even heard the songs, that H.E.A.T will go to the final in the Globe through the second chance. That would be great so we just have to vote and hope for the best. Everyone out there, hardrocker, fans, relatives, neighbours and others be sure to vote on February 14 for H.E.A.T. Have a good Saturday night. I will be watching Clash of the choirs (Körslaget).
