I hate it!

When people call or text you just hours before and says they're not coming!
We had invited over 30 people to our Advent celebration and today from 11AM until 15 minutes ago (!) 10 people have said they won't come :-(

I mean if you say yes to something you schedule that, don't you? If you get ill I can understand but to just say you won't be coming that is not OK! Does it means they say yes and will come if not something more interesting comes up? I wonder.

I have planned for 30, baked and made all the rolls and everything, not to mention glogg and if there's only 20 (or less) it means I have thrown out a lot of money for nothing. So we say this is probably the last year we have this.
It takes a lot of effort to do all this, plus all the things to prepare, shop, bake, changing all the furniture so people will have a place to sit and so on.
And it gets harder since neither of us is in our best health :-(

Anyway I'm sure that we and the ones that do come have a good time together with good food and glogg.

This is what we have on our Advent table.

  1. Looks like quite a party you have prepared. It is annoying when people back out of a commitment.

WOW!!! I just have to say Wow!

Why do you ask? I just got a mail telling me that I have won a romantic trip to Paris for 2! I enrolled in this competition, last year, which was to write a slogan and I had forgot all about it when the mail came. I didn't remember it even then so I had to go to the site and see what it was :-) I'm so happy! and so is Hasse :-) We had a great Easter which started with a wonderful ballet, Giselle, at the Royal Opera with my friend Carina. We are going again tomorrow to see Puccinis Turandot :-) The next day Easter Day we went to Gavle and this time we actually stayed at a hotel, Elite Grand hotel. A newly opened hotel, March 1, where we had the executive suite. What a suite! I have to show you some photos. One of the best suites I've ever stayed in!   The suite taken from the "living-room area"  From the "cosy" area with wood burning stove   Our "little" bathroom with green marble Part of the bedroom What do yo...

Christmas gift

For Christmas I got a giftcard to Amazon.com from my sister Jo. It was a real treat to go to the site, explore and find something to buy. There are so many things there and it's hard to choose. For me, leaving in Sweden, it's a bit easier. I just cross the square that says "ships to Sweden" and I get all the things I can order. My choice was Bliss socks and a big bottle of Dermalogica body cream. They came today and I'm so happy. So once again a big thank you big sis for the generous gift.

BIRTHDAY, H.E.A.T, E.R and more...

Some of the wonderful flowers I got And some more Last week didn't start out well. On Monday I woke up and could hardly walk. I had such pain every step I tried to take. But off to work anyway. Tuesday even worse so I went to the doctor's office and asked to borrow crutches. Wednesday at work jumping on crutches, that must have been a sight ;-) But when I came home from work Wednesday I had fever so I went to bed quite early but didn't sleep well because of the constant pain. Thursday morning I woke up and had fever so I called the hospital and they said I had to go to the E.R. I hate that and if I can I always try to avoid it. But I was in so much pain I had to. I came and after a while they took bloodtests, urine and then I sat in a kind of smallish room. After being there for about 3 hours a doctor came and said I probably should see and orthopedic and not a medicine doctor. After one more hour another doctor came and said my bloodtest showed I had an i...
