The day before Christmas Eve

Today is the last day before the Christmas celebrations tomorrow (here in Sweden that is). I still have cooking and baking to do but I just wanted to write some before I do that.

On Wednesday we had our annual Christmas celebration at work and we started in the afternoon with glögg, coffee, gingerbreadcookies and lottery.
I actually won one price - a open fire place for table (indoor). Very nice and hopefully we will use it a lot to create a nice atmosphere.

After that we took taxis to Cajsa Warg where we were divided into 3 teams - the one who cooked starter - me in the main course team and of course we had a dessert team. And off we went cooking and drinking some very nice wine.

We had a lot of great fun and since one of our common big interest at work is food and good wine we had a great time. For starters we had scallops with roasted pancetta, cauliflowermousse and applesyrup. Delicious!!!

OK as usual the photo is the wrong way and I can't turn it here!! It's the right way as original :-(

So for main course we had ovenbaked sirloin steak that was so tender and tasty. To that we served potatoe soufflé, mojo rojo and spincachsalat.

Dessert was Key lime pie with berries.

You can imagine we were completely full after that :-)

Well, just wanted to tell you and also of course wish you a

VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS!!

BIRTHDAY, H.E.A.T, E.R and more...

Some of the wonderful flowers I got And some more Last week didn't start out well. On Monday I woke up and could hardly walk. I had such pain every step I tried to take. But off to work anyway. Tuesday even worse so I went to the doctor's office and asked to borrow crutches. Wednesday at work jumping on crutches, that must have been a sight ;-) But when I came home from work Wednesday I had fever so I went to bed quite early but didn't sleep well because of the constant pain. Thursday morning I woke up and had fever so I called the hospital and they said I had to go to the E.R. I hate that and if I can I always try to avoid it. But I was in so much pain I had to. I came and after a while they took bloodtests, urine and then I sat in a kind of smallish room. After being there for about 3 hours a doctor came and said I probably should see and orthopedic and not a medicine doctor. After one more hour another doctor came and said my bloodtest showed I had an i...

Recap of the week

This week meant a lot to do and I'm afraid I haven't taken the time to write here :-( But here's a recap of what has happened. Monday and Tuesday not very much but I was so, so tired and my joints does not like this weather at all. I have so much pain especially in my hands and fingers which makes it hard even to write here.  On Wednesday I went to Norrtälje to my good friend Anne for some treatment, which was very much needed, lots of chat and also a very good lunch. It's always a pleasure to see her and we have so much to talk about all the time. A true friend who I'm so grateful of having. Next day it was time for work and after that directly to the working committe in the Rheumatic association. Afterwards also meeting in the foundation, where we grant money to people who have applied, and fulfill the rules of the statues. When driving home again at night, it's so dark now and I hate driving in the dark, there was an accident with a big truck a...

Christmas gift

For Christmas I got a giftcard to Amazon.com from my sister Jo. It was a real treat to go to the site, explore and find something to buy. There are so many things there and it's hard to choose. For me, leaving in Sweden, it's a bit easier. I just cross the square that says "ships to Sweden" and I get all the things I can order. My choice was Bliss socks and a big bottle of Dermalogica body cream. They came today and I'm so happy. So once again a big thank you big sis for the generous gift.
