3:rd Advent party with losses and Christmas concert in Gävle

 Christmas candy
 Chocolate and truffles
 Christmas feels closer now
Yesterday we had an Advent party here for family, friends, workingcollegues and H.E.A.T family.
From the beginning it was meant to be a party to gather the H.E.A.T family who hasn't seen each other much this year because the guys haven't been touring but writing songs for the new album.
We had calculated they would be finished in the studio last week but no. They weren't. So no H.E.AT members although several H.E.A.T parents came, at least 3/6th of them :-)
I had also invited working collegues, friends and family members, all in all around 40 people. The very morning I had calls from 10 people who couldn't come and the days before had also been some cancellations so in total we were half the amount - 20! But we had a great time filled with glögg (of course) coffee, canapés with Christmas ham and mustard and also some with Skagenmixture, safronbuns, gingerbreads with blue-cheese/creme fraiche, safroncookies, soft gingerbread cookie and much more like candy, chocolate....
You get the picture :-)
This is how happy I was :-)
I was especially happy to see my co-workers here and also Anna who used to be like a child in the house when she and Jonas went to the same school. We don't see her that often nowadays. Last time she was here was 2 years ago I think. She's doing so well and is musician like Jonas. She has been on tour with Veronica Maggio this summer (a very well-known popular singer here in Sweden) and she has also released her own album this year. One of the songs was in an episode of Private practice actually.
Anna aka Birgit Bidder
I also want to thank Christina for the delicious chocolate that came from her shop:Kungsholmen's chocolate and café

Before all this took place me and Hasse went up to Gavle Wednesday. I and the girls, Lena and Gunilla, went to a Christmas concert with Peter Johansson and Matilda Hansson. And what a concert that was!! It was so so good. Their version of Barcelona took my breath away. I got chills, I had tears - it was so powerful and great. We also stood up and danced during the concert which really was a mix of traditional Christmas songs and rocksongs and jazz. Great, great. Afterwards I went to see them and got a big hug from Peter. We have met before and he's very nice and also a fan of  H.E.A.T :-)

The stage before the show. I forgot to take photos during the show - that is how good it was!
And we got to see snow. When we left it was -5C, sunshine and snow.

I drove up and when I drove over Dalaälven the snow really started. Snowing heavily making it very hard to see anything but white.

Anyone??

I wonder if anyone can see and read my blogg? I haven't had any comments in so long that's why I ask. Erik didn't win a Grammy last night but he had a blast and he and his fiancé looked just great! Another Swede, Ludwig Göransson, won 3 prices though. Congrats to him.

Oh my God

The Christmas smorgasbord I just realized I haven't written anything since November 23! But I can tell you I haven't been lazy but there has been so much going on that I haven't had the strength to write. I had meetings that week and I was supposed to be at a conference hotel for lunch that Friday but I was to tired I had to cancel it. So instead I baked safron buns (!) and made chocolate troufles with ginger.  The ferry On December 1 it was Staffan's birthday (Hasse's oldest son) and I worked and worked at my job. Thursday I and Hasse were supposed to go to the theatre and see Come again Charlie, which was one of my birthday presents - thank you Pär and Brita. But Hasse wasn't feeling well so instead I asked Linnea, my bonus grand daughter if she wanted to go and she was very happy that I asked. We had a really good time and the play, which was a comedy, was funny but also with a message which made you laugh and then stop. It was about the si...

Sad day

Tonight Olle, my adoptive father that has been like my father almost all my life, died just before 9PM. It was very quick. I talked to the nurse at 6PM and everything was calm then. Just a bit over 2 hours later she called and said he's gotten worse. I asked how and she said his skin changed colour and that he could have 10 minutes or 10 hours left. I was just trying to get to my sister on the phone and ask her if we should go down when the phone rang again just 15 minutes afterwards and it was the nurse telling me that it was over. He went very peacefully and in his sleep. At the end he was given a lot of morphine so he wouldn't be in pain, which he wasn't. I called my sister but we both felt that we already had said our goodbyes and therefore didn't go down to say a last goodbye. He is probably up there somewhere looking down and sensing our feelings. We haven't been able to reach our mother yet and we probably won't tonight so I will tell her when I go there ...
