Saturday November 6 King Gustav Adolf's Day

I haven't had time to write before. I had to digest everything that happened in Nottingham at Firefest.
First of all - I had a blast! And I hope if you have looked at my blog you have been able to listen to some of the songs I recorded. The soundquality isn't the best but I think you got the hang of it. On Friday with H.E.A.T's show it was a crowd ready to rock when  they entered the stage. So much singalong and so much performance from everyone on stage. I really had goosebumps all over when they performed some of the songs.

After the show we went to the guys hotel for afterparty. We had been there earlier having dinner with them.  I loved every second but what I didn't love was the taxidrivers of Nottingham!!! Since it was our first time and we had no idea where the hotel was we asked for a taxi. There were 3 Premier Inn hotels in Nottingham (WHY?) and we wanted the one by the university. We ended up at some bridge out in nowhere and I said this is not the hotel. The driver then stopped the car and was obviously angry with me?! I said; we didn't want the Premier Inn by the station, nor by the bridge but we wanted the one by the university! He had to call in and got an address and finally we were on the right way. We actually went around Nottingham for almost 30 minutes! Then he dropped us off saying we should go to the right which we did and ended up in town again. In panic we called one of the girls: Where are we and where are you?? The taxidriver had pointed the wrong direction so we had to walk back. The irony of it all is that their hotel was like 5 minutes walk from our hotel!!! No more taxidrivers in Nottingham. Don't trust them at all. We ended up paying £10 for nothing.

Anyway we had the greatest of times after the gig. I met with so many old and new friends. People I'm friends with on Facebook but never met "live". And they turned out to be just as nice as I thought.

Saturday was restday for me and Helen. Did some shopping and then rest.

Sunday was the Jimi Jamison gig at Rockcity (just behind our hotel) with the greatest band consisting of Jona Tee keyboard (H.E.A.T) Jimmy Jay bass (H.E.A.T), Tommy Denander guitar, Magnus Ulfstedt drums.
What a gig! It was magic. I had goosebumps and at one time tears in my eyes. I loooooved it! The audience did too. We were lucky enough to get VIP-passes on Friday already so we were on the VIP-balcony with an excellent overview.

After the gig everyone joined us at our private lounge at our hotel (me and Helen's that is) where we had free wine and beer. We had also bought some champagne and chips. Everyone in the band turned up including all the girlfriends and Vonne (Jimmy's Mom). We had such a great time and the guys kept singing. There was another party in the lounge and they looked a bit grumpy so I went to them and told them that this was the band H.E.A.T and I also had an EP with me which I gave to them. After that they were very happy and it turned out it was the woman's birthday so everyone sang Happy Birthday to her.
After we had dranked all (I think) some of us went to the Casino opposite the hotel and some to the official afterparty.

I would have put a funny video here but I'm not sure the guys want it so I'd better ask first ;-)

Tonight dinner at our neighbours house. I went to see my Mom earlier today and tomorrow perhaps I will have a quiet day but I'm not at all sure. Have a great Saturday evening and take care all of you out there.

Oh my God

The Christmas smorgasbord I just realized I haven't written anything since November 23! But I can tell you I haven't been lazy but there has been so much going on that I haven't had the strength to write. I had meetings that week and I was supposed to be at a conference hotel for lunch that Friday but I was to tired I had to cancel it. So instead I baked safron buns (!) and made chocolate troufles with ginger.  The ferry On December 1 it was Staffan's birthday (Hasse's oldest son) and I worked and worked at my job. Thursday I and Hasse were supposed to go to the theatre and see Come again Charlie, which was one of my birthday presents - thank you Pär and Brita. But Hasse wasn't feeling well so instead I asked Linnea, my bonus grand daughter if she wanted to go and she was very happy that I asked. We had a really good time and the play, which was a comedy, was funny but also with a message which made you laugh and then stop. It was about the si...

Sad day

Tonight Olle, my adoptive father that has been like my father almost all my life, died just before 9PM. It was very quick. I talked to the nurse at 6PM and everything was calm then. Just a bit over 2 hours later she called and said he's gotten worse. I asked how and she said his skin changed colour and that he could have 10 minutes or 10 hours left. I was just trying to get to my sister on the phone and ask her if we should go down when the phone rang again just 15 minutes afterwards and it was the nurse telling me that it was over. He went very peacefully and in his sleep. At the end he was given a lot of morphine so he wouldn't be in pain, which he wasn't. I called my sister but we both felt that we already had said our goodbyes and therefore didn't go down to say a last goodbye. He is probably up there somewhere looking down and sensing our feelings. We haven't been able to reach our mother yet and we probably won't tonight so I will tell her when I go there ...

Anyone??

I wonder if anyone can see and read my blogg? I haven't had any comments in so long that's why I ask. Erik didn't win a Grammy last night but he had a blast and he and his fiancé looked just great! Another Swede, Ludwig Göransson, won 3 prices though. Congrats to him.
