Update

Since last time I wrote I have been to see my friend Anne in Norrtälje. Very nice as usual with lots of chat, laughter and of course good food.

On Saturday I attended the premiere of Spader Dam (Queen of Spades) by Tjajkovskij. A wonderful opera and very modern since it's about a man that gets addicted to gamling so much that he loses the love of his life and finally commits suicide. The leading man wasn't that good because most of the time the music overplayed his voice. It wasn't strong enough to reach out. The music and the orchestra on the other hand was magnificent. I didn't come home until 11.45 PM just in time to see Sweden ending up in 22 place (worst in I don't know how many years) in Eurovision song contest. No, we would have been better off if we had sent H.E.A.T to the Eurovision I think.

Monday was Hasse's namesday, Erik, and as a gift from me he received a trip to Tällberg with overnight stay in a suite with full board, tickets for Dalhalla to see Rhapsody in Rock on July 14. I'm also coming if you were wondering :-)

On Tuesday I went to Gävle to have treatments first with Gunilla on Tuesday and then with Per on Wednesday. It's always so nice to come up there and meet everyone. Emil had been there since before the weekend because he was helping Staffan paiting the "friggebod" (a small house we can build here in Sweden without permit). So Emil, Lena and Staffan came up later that night to Gunillas so we had a chance to chat. Emil then went home with me yesterday.

Today I have been to see my Mom but she had a bad day and was very confused. After that I saw the priest who is going to officiate at the funeral. She was a lovely lady, very christian which I really like in a priest (don't laugh, not every priest is you know). We sat and talked for over an hour. I and Helen together with Mom had written down some facts about Olle for instance where he was born, his occupations but also how he was as a person. She, the priest, was very happy to get that. She also liked the music we had choosen and said that she had a feeling this will be a beautiful funeral. I really liked her and I'm sure she will officiate a beautiful funeral for Olle.
Before we parted she read to me: Lord is our shephard..... and also said a prayer for me, my family and Mom. Very nice and touching.

Tomorrow I'm going to fix my hair and then we are invited to dinner by Kitte and Janne in the evening. It's Hasse's birthday gift from them.

On Saturday we are off to Göta kanal with the Rheumatic association and then on Sunday I'm off to Gävle for treatments again.

Some photos here too to show you what's been going on earlier. It's from grillkväll (BBQ evening) with Jona, Mandy, Emil, Mandy's mom Sofie, Danniel and me and Hasse.
Also from Kungsan on RixFm festival where H.E.A.T performed.
And a very nice photo of my Mom and Emil when we had lunch in Skärholmen.

Oh my God

The Christmas smorgasbord I just realized I haven't written anything since November 23! But I can tell you I haven't been lazy but there has been so much going on that I haven't had the strength to write. I had meetings that week and I was supposed to be at a conference hotel for lunch that Friday but I was to tired I had to cancel it. So instead I baked safron buns (!) and made chocolate troufles with ginger.  The ferry On December 1 it was Staffan's birthday (Hasse's oldest son) and I worked and worked at my job. Thursday I and Hasse were supposed to go to the theatre and see Come again Charlie, which was one of my birthday presents - thank you Pär and Brita. But Hasse wasn't feeling well so instead I asked Linnea, my bonus grand daughter if she wanted to go and she was very happy that I asked. We had a really good time and the play, which was a comedy, was funny but also with a message which made you laugh and then stop. It was about the si...

Sad day

Tonight Olle, my adoptive father that has been like my father almost all my life, died just before 9PM. It was very quick. I talked to the nurse at 6PM and everything was calm then. Just a bit over 2 hours later she called and said he's gotten worse. I asked how and she said his skin changed colour and that he could have 10 minutes or 10 hours left. I was just trying to get to my sister on the phone and ask her if we should go down when the phone rang again just 15 minutes afterwards and it was the nurse telling me that it was over. He went very peacefully and in his sleep. At the end he was given a lot of morphine so he wouldn't be in pain, which he wasn't. I called my sister but we both felt that we already had said our goodbyes and therefore didn't go down to say a last goodbye. He is probably up there somewhere looking down and sensing our feelings. We haven't been able to reach our mother yet and we probably won't tonight so I will tell her when I go there ...

Anyone??

I wonder if anyone can see and read my blogg? I haven't had any comments in so long that's why I ask. Erik didn't win a Grammy last night but he had a blast and he and his fiancé looked just great! Another Swede, Ludwig Göransson, won 3 prices though. Congrats to him.
