Ouch!!

OK, the weekend started out very well. We came home from Helsinki on Saturday and had a great night home in peace and quiet. Sunday I started cooking rather early in the morning. I treated my co-workers to a warm sandwichcake which I invented there and then. Lunch I took sandwiches which I cut the edges off. Then placed 15 of them on a baking paper on a oven plate. On the first layer I made a filling out of chantarelle cheese (soft), creme fraiche and creme fraiche with mushroms. The second filling was: 1 kg of ground beef, 2-3 onions, 3-4 mushroms. I fried these together until it was soft and done ;-) Then I sprinkled 2 tablespoons of flour, 2 tablespoons of Chinese soy sauce (not the Japanese ones, it's too thin), 2-3 dl of whipped cream and then water and spices. I used salt, white peppar, black peppar, chiliflakes (not too much) but you can take what you like.  The texture should be firm but spreadable. So I place 15 bread over the first layer and spread the second f

Healing and Helsinki

Beautiful sunset over the Baltic sea at 10PM Since the operation I have been doing really good. The healing goes well and I have been a good girl not overdoing anything. Cheers   On Thursday though Hasse and I went for a luxury cruise to Helsinki. We actually found out we haven't been there since 2011. We did go there last year on the cruise around the Baltic sea but we never left the ship. The harbour where the ship docked was so far from the town and it was a very sunny day so that's why we stayed on board last year.  Stockholm archipelago I wish I had a better camera. The moon was full and red-yellow, just stunning The moped veteran race. In the background the Market square Here you can how many there are and half had already passed here. Lunch at Fazer café  I also went to Helsinki in September on a conference cruise but never went ashore since we worked.  Dinner at the Italian restaurant on board So this was actually th

Conference, media training and operation

Sunset over Sastaholm.  Sastaholm   Since I last wrote I have attended a panel debate on the health care in Stockholm. We in the Rheumatic association together with other handicap organisations arranged it and there were politicians from every party represented in the county council of Stockholm.  Very interesting but not enough focus on our questions. Media training with 2 of the journalists On Friday we had arranged a conference in a wonderful place called Sastaholm. It used to be a retirement home for old actors/actresses and you can really tell by the decor and everything. Dinner   The first day we had media training by 3 journalists which ended up in us being filmed for "TV-show" like Good morning TV or Nyhetsmorgon. Of course I was the one in my group that got filmed. I was interviewed about patient schools for people with osteoarthritis. They said I did a good job but I didn't repeat the message enough times :-) Grillbuffet   In the even

H.E.A.T concert and family lunch

H.E.A.t ON STAGE. Photo: Pär Altan Having dinner at O'Learys And another one. We had a room to ourselves :-) Saturday me and Hasse went to a rock concert at Tyrol, Gröna Lund, which of course featured H.E.A.T. Reading the menu We were 15 or 16 family members from the families which had dinner together before the gig. A very nice time and a chance to catch up since we haven't seen each other for a long time. That is all together I mean. H.E.A.T and public. Photo Pär Altan After dinner we went to Tyrol and I bought a T-shirt for Hasse (it was really for me but he liked it so much I gave it to him). The show started and what a show it was! They really gave their all and many of the songs from the new album "Tearing down the walls" was in the set. I love them! They should really play an arena with  20 000 when they sing Tearing down the walls. What an anthem that is! Photo: Pär Altan They also seemed to have real fun up there both together

Home again - jetlag - snow (long and lots of photos)

I'm back again after wonderful weeks with my family in LA. I have had the best of times and I thank you for always giving me the warmest welcome.   The Habit in Whittier for lunch with firefighters in the background The day (or rather evening) I arrived Norbert met me and drove to the house. When I came in it was like no time had passed at all (though it was 3 years). We started chatting at once and Jo and I stayed up until almost 2AM talking :-)   The orange tree with the most delicious and juicy oranges. I managed to catch our little hummingbird that nested in the backyard Beautiful sounds from the garden I wrote about the food truck dinner on Friday and on Sunday we had Norbert over for dinner before he was to head to his house in Las Vegas. On Saturday Jo started feeling sick and in the evening me too. On Sunday I was so tired felt kind of an ache in my stomach. I went to bed and slept for 3 hours. Norbert came, I went up hot with fever.
