Birthday party - not

Me in Ajaccio and the ship in the background Well, after taking off from Livorno the weather once again was thunder and lightning and windy so that day we made it an early night and woke up the next day in Saint Raphael on the French Riviera near Marseille. The day was lovely and we went by ashore by the tenders. Once there we strolled along the queyside where the Sunday market was. Lot of fun and nice things to look at. Our "grandchildren" wanted to take a bath in the Mediterranean so we went to a little beach. There were only 2 other people there - a madame and her grown daughter who was out swimming. When she came out of the water she went away and the Madam came to me and told me (in French) she had been badly burnt by jellyfishes and warned us to go in. So no bathing for the kids. The Madam continued talking to me, still in French, and I'm so happy I understood all that she said and could even answer her back in French (it has been like 15 years since I s

Livorno, Italy

I have really tried to write on this blog but the ship's computer isn't working like it should, sea sick :-) so now I'm ashore and in an internet place. We have been walking now for one hour pointed here and there and noone seemed to know where we should go, isn't that typically Italian? Yesterday we were in Pompeji walking around the ruins in 33C and sunshine. It was hot I can tell you. Very interesting though to see all that advanced technology they used already 79AD. Afterwards it was lunch and then into the pool. Tunisia was even worse, hotwise I mean, so we just went ashore to see the camels, hihi and then back on deck. Tonight we had the worst thunderstorm with thunder and lightning so I just sat in our chair in the cabin watching the spectacular views. Even this morning it continued but now it's just raining a bit. I sure hope it will clear up and that we will have a nice day tomorrow in France. Write more when I get my hands on a computer.

Tomorrow

can't can quickly enough. I have to get up at 4 which isn't my best time of the day but hopefully we will be able to take a nap on the plane. I don't know if there's internet onboard the ship but if it is I will try to write and tell you about the different cities we will visit. I think I need to go to bed early today but there's so much left to do since I haven't done any packing earlier. L stayed with us last night which was lovely. We see each other too seldom and more seldom now when she's leaving for Washington DC as aupair. But do you know what happened to me today? I got an email this morning telling me that I had won a trip for two to New York including hotel and tickets to a musical on Broadway (it's for real because I answered some questions, got those right and came to the final where I had to motivate why I should be the one going to NY). I'm so happy you can't believe it. L said that she might come up to see us then. I don't know

Soon.......

Only 1 day left, not counting today until we go. I know I shouldn't have such high expections because I risc getting dissapointed but I don't think anything could get me dissapointed now. If things aren't up to the standard or something else lacks it doesn't matter because I will still be having my very well deserved rest and H too of course. If someone needs it more than me it's him who has tackled his disease, since October 1 last year, that no one seems to know what it is. I did very early on, in December, suggested that it was something rheumatic but the doctors weren't on my side then but now they are and they have referred him to a rheumatic ward for evaluation and diagnose (that is when we come home). My fair lady I told you I was going to see the first public rehearsal of My fair lady and that I had been given one free ticket from SJ (our public railroad in Sweden) but what I didn't know was the wonderful party this was. When we arrived we walked int

to my vacation and our cruise. Do you think I'm longing? You're right I am. I was up at 4.45 AM today! Can you believe that? I'm so tired and it wasn't volontarily but we had to leave our other car for repair and I had to give H a lift since it's kind of hard getting home from there. I was so tired I even forgot that I had to take my shot today. I do that every 2 or 3 weeks in order to feel better (it's B12 which is the most important B-vitamine we need and I don't produce as much as I should) and since I'm going away and won't be home until the 17th I needed one this week. Our nurse at work is on vacation the rest of the week so I have to go down to VLG and get it. I finished the sale of Mom and Dad's house on Monday. Yippe! I really deserve a medal but at least champagne or something. It was problems to the last minute and it almost didn't come through but thanks to sweet talk and diplomacy we solved it (after 3 hours at the estate agents o
