Grey Wednesday

Today has been a grey rather dull day. When I got up at 5.15 AM I saw it was raining. After breakfast which my wonderful husband H does for me every day, I drove to work. It was still raining heavily but now with some snow in it. As I drove along the rain shifted over more and more to snow and by the time I was at work it was pure snow - and a lot of it. I wasn't prepared for that at all and had just ordinary shoes. It continued snowing almost until I stopped work at 11 AM when it just rained. It continued raining almost all day and the sun didn't shine at all, just cloudy and grey. My happy moment today was, I think, when I went to our company nurse for a shot of B12. Not that I got the shot, but that I know it makes me feel so much better. I'm still very tired but I think that it because I have this infection in one tooth. Didn't I write about that before? Anyway I suddenly had a swelling above one of my teeth and as the days went by it started to hurt very bad. The o

Happy moment

My happy moment today was when I was at my friend A's clinic in Norrtalje and I she gave me treatment. She does craniosacral therapy and it's so good for me. This time I saw the sunshine and felt the warmth from it on my cheek, at least that was the feeling I got and I felt really happy. We also had lunch together and I had a wonderful chantarellesoup with chickenspit. It was so good. I love chantarelles but I find them very hard to find. When I drove back home I stopped at a farm and bought fresh eggs. They are so good and a different taste from the ones you buy in shops. I came home rather late so I bought El Maco for Hasse and Chicken Mc Nuggets for me for dinner. Rather lazy but sometimes it's good to eat something like that.

Monday and a new week

I promised to tell you more about my father and sister but yesterday I was so tired so instead I had a lazy day after our grandchildren had left. It has really been too much lately with my parents ill and in hospital. It gets to you and also the conversations I have had with doctors. Each time a new doctor and new nurse. It seems to be getting in the right direction for Mom at least. Today when I spoke with the nurse he said that she had responded to the antibiotics and if the progress continues she can go back to the short timehome tomorrow. O will stay at the hospital at least until next week. Today when I drove home from work I was so happy. The sun was shining, the radio played good music and I was thinking about J and the bands album release. It's fantastic that it's just 1 year ago they merged together from two bands and created H.E.A.T. They have a very good and skilled manager in HK who has helped them a lot. I have decided that I will try to write down my "happy m

Busy weekend

The best band ever! (According to me) Weekend again and you would think you could rest and relax but no. Yesterday 2 of our grandchildren came, L1 and L2. They drove down themselves, yes they are grown L1 is 20 and L2 is 18. They came to visit E, our son, and have a night in Stockholm. So yesterday they slept at E's place and came here today at noon. E and the girls, they are both girls, took the commute train to Stockholm and was going to a club when L1 suddenly discovered she had forgotten her ID at E's place so they couldn't get in anywhere so very dissapointed they returned home but had fun anyway. As I wrote last time O is in hospital and he's still there. But it doesn't end there. Mom has complained over her arm that has been hurting a lot so on Thursday they did an X-ray to see if anything was broken but they couldn't see anything. Yesterday they called from the short time home and said Mom was sent to hospital in ambulance because they suspected she cou

Sad ending + beginning of the story

The week started out so well with that wonderful Yasuragi Spa which in retrospective was very lucky. On Tuesday I had a phonecall that said O, my Dad, was on his way to hospital in ambulance. I had to immediately take care of arranging for my mother to come to a short time home since she has Alzheimer and can't stay at home by herself. So I contacted the municipality who arranged a place to the day after. My sister H, took her home over night and I fetched Mom the following morning. Luckily I had vacation so I had time to do it. We went home to Mom's and O's home to pack some things and go through the fridge and the mail which took a couple of hours since they hadn't been able to do that. Mom can't and O had been ill for a while and hadn't the strength. Then we went to the short time home where she's been before but when we got there she said: Do I have to stay overnight here? And I said yes, you know you have. When installed in the room she became very sad

Yasuragi Spa, Hasseludden, Saltsjo-Boo

Me and my bonus daughter G went to Yasuragi Spa on Sunday. This is a place just outside of Stockholm in the wonderful archipelago of Stockholm. It was my Christmas- and birthdaygift for her and since she's in the middle of a separation she really needed to get away and relax. Thanks to M who works at the Yasuragi, we had the most wonderful suite called Shikara (I really don't know what that means and I forgot to ask). We had our own very big bathroom with private Japanese washing area as well as the biggest bathtub we've ever seen. It was in tile and very deep approx. 1 meter, 2 meter long and 1,20 broad. You could easily fit two people in there but it took forever to fill it up. A big, big, room almost like a whole flat with different areas. One was the bed who was like on a podium, then a meditation area and a sitting area. Also a big balcony. See the photos. When we arrived we put on the Yukata, which is the only clothes (apart from underwear) that you wear throughout t

A New Year ahead..

A new Year lies ahead. So much to look forward to, so much that is happening. I'm not much for New Year's resolutions because you tend to break them very soon ;-). But I have one and that is to write this blog - one reason is to share my day to day life with my family in USA and the other reason being I want to share my son's band H.E.A.T and their journey this year. So much is happening right now with them. They signed a record contract with Peter Stormare's record company, Stormvox, last year and they recorded their first album last year and it was finished in December. In February J, my son, is going to LA to mix it together with Michael Blum and hopefully the album will be out in stores beginning of March. Their music, which is mostly written by J, D and K, is a melodic hard rock and I love it. I'm not alone. We are many fans waiting for their debut album. Their biggest gig yet is when they last year were opening act for TOTO in Umea, Sweden. Me, H and E went t
